I have emailed Maketoys about their cheap, less-than-acceptable packaging practices and here's their reply.

In short, deal with it !!!! They might want to add that as a disclaimer on their webpage...

The orders are here in us customs. I'm sure of it. If it said processed through Hong Kong air faciltiy it made it to the usa!
Not sure Wtf Is going on though. I have something non transformer related as well that is showing no tracking update since the 16th

 

I suppose it depends where in China seeing as Hong Kong is a city in China.

 

I just got my box, and its is smashed on one side, like someone stepped on it. The apt # is also wrong, but I was standing there when the mail man dropped it off at the desk in my building.

The toy box isn't as bad as some have showed on here but it is really unacceptable how many of these have been beaten up. I think it has something to do with these getting shipped at the start of / over Chinese new year, perhaps some angry employees still working?... I'll post pictures a little later

Less than acceptable to who? Box collectors? I can't fault them for not worrying about the boxes when the toy itself is suspended in the middle in the plastic carrier.

 

Sounds like Maketoys is using some shady ass shipping company. Terrible condition of boxes, NO updates on tracking for a month.....they should just stick to sending their products to vendors instead of doing it themselves cause they obviously fucking suck at picking a reliable shipping company.

 

If anything, it implies a lack of consideration on their part. Since when do online resellers ship products as they are without any form of cushioning / protection ?! It's definitely not up to industry standard, and as such, they should be called out for it. Moreover they have NO intention of changing their practices, their "take it or leave it" attitude shouldn't be glossed over. I have bought $10 items from ebay that are far better packed. Why should Maketoys store be any different?

i have to say he is completely amazing! the cape is cool but i wish it was more like the BS vader material. I dont feel like i can handle him that well with it on. I'd be down if someone wanted to make one out of better material. Anyone here sew?

 

Officially been two weeks since my package supposedly left Hong Kong with no updates in tracking since and no out-of-the-blue arrival either (mail already came today). Balls.

I guess I can contact USPS in the next few days, but I already figure what their response will be so I'm not expecting them to be of much help. I guess I can try contacting HK Post directly. After that response from MakeToys about the damaged boxes people are getting, I don't think I'd bother emailing them about this (and since these have technically been shipped, I don't think they could be of much help either.

Just sucks sitting here in limbo because, at least for me, this is when worst-case scenarios start entering my mind (package is lost, package is seized, package is sitting in a local post office, package was delivered to wrong place and/or sent back, etc.) when tracking isn't able to tell me otherwise.

 

Now part of China... HK is off the coast.
