Me too, the quality on the new one I got was definitely better than the original release I had. And the deco puts it over the top. If Maketoys can keep up this level of quality with their trickle of releases I'll be a happy camper.

 

Does he still transform with them?

 

He’s a great little figure that looks pretty darn good in both modes.

There is something a little “inelegant” about Downbeat though; the chest crest, and his “plastic-y” look.

I would be fine if FT never made one. I am not losing sleep over it; but I sure as shit would prefer theirs over MT’s. Likewise, their Mirage over MMC’s and/or TE’s.

 

Agreed. Gonna be getting mine in PROBABLY some time next week, so I have no worries about him crashing and burning. Aside from the whole decal and sticker fiasco, Downbeat Premium seems to be nothing other than great.

Though i'll also be getting FT's cause why the hell not? Hahahaha.

 

Of course he... uh... y'know I'm not actually sure. I haven't tried transforming him since putting the hands on him. I assume so since KFC hands tend to fit in the same space as MP hands, they're not much bigger than his stock hands if at all, and the posability tends to mean you can get the fingers out of the way pretty easily.

 

I wonder if one of the KFC Lambro hands would work... Anybody have any idea?

I just ordered a set of Sideswipe hands from China. I'll let you know in like a month. Reading back through the thread, it sounds like the Sideswipe ones will go on if you remove a bit of plastic in the hand's peg slot. The Ironhide ones fit without modification, but the color doesn't match as well.

X-Transbots Aegis V1 hands fit also. I have those on my Downbeat. You could always try buy a set off XTB.

There you go. It's a direct swap that stays on during transformation just like w any of the Takara MPs. Size may look large in the photo but proportions are exactly the same as w any MP car. An A-stance photo would have been more helpful but... I didn't want to re-pose him.

While I'm here, have people figured out where the premium chrome stickers are to be applied? I can't seem to find a keyword in thread search to narrow down to the actual application of these them. Thanks in advance.

Were they the KFC ones? I have a set of KFC Sideswipe hands and they were very tight to get on, I did manage to get them on, but they are very tight and deformed the mushroom peg on his wrist a bit.

 

Yes. I'm not aware of any other black articulated hands.

I'm not sure what to tell you. Mine snapped right in on both the original and the premium. You could try your hands on a regular MP car to see if that overly tight too.

 

Got my KFC Sideswipe hands and unfortunately, they don't work as well as the set @AlX Boi has did. The slots were way too tight and stressed a bit when they got on. The thumb keeps popping off one of them, so the cons far outweigh the pros. Gun also doesn't slot in the hands at all so I'm just going with the standard set for now.
