I love all of that! I just wanna complete this maketoys g2 collection!

 

Let’s put some names to som faces!

(Top to Bottom, Left to Right)
- G1 toy colours reflector from the visualisers (hopefully the heads as well)
- Detritus from gun dog (praying for a goatee)
- Metalhawk from galaxy meteor (interesting decision)
- What I’m positive is not acid storm but rather a more interesting background seeker from meteor
- Sunstorm from meteor (I appreciate the more interesting colours)

 

Corrosion sure sounds like a name that would derive from Acid Storm though. But, who else would it be? Its not Bitstream, Hotlink, Nacelle, Ion Storm, Nova Storm, Sandstorm, Slipstream or Redwing. Are there any other background seekers?

 

If this is available online, I'll easily buy two. I remember getting G2 Jazz (along with G2 Optimus, G2 Bumblebee, and G2 Beachcomber) for my 6th birthday...one of my best birthdays ever. Jazz was always my 2nd favorite Autobot and this one holds a ton of nostalgia value. Looking forward to this one!

 

Well you think so but I’ve got some deep thoughts on this. I can’t find a source and if anyone else can I’d love that. There was a g1 seeker that had a stronger green and more black details then acid storm. I found him on fredery’s meeker seeker’s song thumbnail and he gives them all joke names, I know he’s not called acid trip but just roll with me.

Sure, but the Universe and Masterpiece version of Acid Storm have the black arms, feet, and partial chest:




So Corrosion looks like the Acid Storm toys only with wings like the cartoon version rather than the camo wings of the toys. I mean, Occam's razor says they would base a green Meteor redeco on actual character Acid Storm rather than random unnamed seeker from Ultimate Doom:

 

Please have some available outside of the con, he is too popular for you not to. What a great looking release. I need one very bad to go with Sideswipe.

 

They aren't on there just for kicks. And what's shown on there isn't comprehensive of all they have planned.

Yeah I used Jreams kit and they do a really nice job. Still, clear blue lenses would take it up another level. Still not replacing the one I have though.

 

I don't have Gundog, so I wouldn't mind that Detritus. Plus, I had Reflector when I was a kid, so I'm more nostalgic for the colors on that Mycro-X over the toon colors. And I think they're a little more eye-catching.

I get what you're saying, and a "truly" accurate MP Acid Storm should be the big blob of neonish green, but even Hasbro & Takara haven't put in that much effort to make Acid Storm toys accurate, and I can see companies in general being hesitant to release a giant monochromatic figure with barely any contrasting colors from the head down. That MT green guy being Acid Storm makes sense until proven otherwise.

Yes this is same mold as Downbeat, which is MP scaled. (Just a repaint essentially)

 

That's where I am at too, these repaints being molds different than what I own make the idea of purchase easier to accept. Kinda glad I didn't give in on buying Galaxy Starscream or any form of metalhawk now.

 

Here's hoping Maketoys makes this available online. I have been begging for this, as G2 Jazz is one of my grail toys, along with G2 Beachcomber and a good set of MP airiel bots. I would also be in the camp to buy 2 or maybe even 3, 1 to transform/play/display, 1 to keep MISB and hang up, and 1 just in case lol. Hopefully Maketoys sees that there is a large demand for this, and make more available.
The crazy thing is that this G2 version is way more detailed then their 1st release of downbeat. I don't think the 3rd parties even realize how much more of an consumer base they have with G2, as they would capture the older G1 consumers, and the younger G2 consumers.
Do the right thing, and mass release this beauty after TFCON Maketoys.

 

Please let them do the G2 Starscream and Ramjet in this style packaging as aswell. Would it be too much to hope we may get a sound box with each of them
