Neither MT or FT can get their designs looking quite right to me. I just hope MT can pull this one off so I can get some seekers. As for articulated hands, I think they add a lot to figures but it's not a big deal without them either. To the person who said they all look like boxes, you should take a closer look...definitely not the case.

Good to know Spence, I too was getting a bit worried about this project. But ah figure they pushed it for other things in the mean time is all.

Gosh it'll be nice to finally at long last have a mp seeker that is a definitive evolution over takara's very dated one.

It will come down to the face for me...always does with MT. I expect they'll deliver on the body/jet, but will the face be anime accurate (or close) or stylized a bit too much.

I'm glad to hear this isn't dead. This is my most anticipated figure this year!!!

I really hope we get to see some progress soon. I'm in on Starscream and all repaints!!! (Assuming they keep up the awesome work they've been doing)

I deliberately didnt get me a Starscream to wait and see how this will look before completing my seekers...Glad it isnt dead...I wish it wont be as anime/comic book stylized as Despotron

@Spence for what it's worth, I really hope your designers go the Downbeat route and try to nail the cartoon aesthetic as mush as possible versus the "re-imagined" route you guys took with Despotron. Just my 2 cents. :)

I couldn't agree more. That's one of the reasons I couldn't pull the trigger (no pun intended) on Despotron. That and it doesn't include stock & silencer. Hopefully the face won't have the puffy cheek kissy-face duck lips look we got with Gun Dog and Ironwill.

I like Maketoys heroic style. I think going for cartoon accuracy makes for whimpy looking bots :/

Happy to have confirmation that these are still coming. I hope they DO take a route similar to Despotron as I think he is way more dynamic and badass than the super toon MP. Not that it matters because the design is no doubt already done, lol.

I love how MakeToys makes their MPs. Their design aesthetic agrees with me. I look at Ironwill and I can't imagine anyone making a better Hardhead. It has a really nice balance of looking just like the toon in major identifying characteristics, but looking way better than the toon as a detailed badass toy.

I hope for the same from Howling Meteor. You do your thing, Maketoys.

If MT is checking these forums, same as everyone else. Been patiently waiting for this project to happen and I almost gave up hope until I saw Spence's post. Toyworld would be my back up but hoping I don't have to go that route. Something just seems off with there seekers, beyond there heights.

I find myself agreeing with both these statements, counterintuitively. I definitely prefer the more "beefed up" body style of the Hasui MPs and MT bots, but I want the heads and faces to be very cartoon accurate. It throws me off if the faces are off.

Been very impressed with despotron and downbeat, in terms of aesthetics, quality and transformation. Looking forward to MT's version of this iconic character, and have a good feeling they'll nail it.

Agreed, I don't get why Takara keeps using grey...Starscream is white. :lol

No he's not. He's definitely grey in the animation, and the majority of G1 Starscream-based toys are also grey. The only times he's been white are the Hasbro/USA Edition MP-3 and the Universe release of the Classics mold.

Unless you're biased towards the Marvel Comics depictions of him, in which case that's a limitation of the 3-colour printing of the era. His light grey colour couldn't be reproduced there.

Eh another one of those interpretation things. In the cartoon he was either light grey or white. I prefer the grey myself.

If we get a white version I would hope its specifically the G2 deco instead with the neon orange bits and camo wing detail n whatnot.
