I ordered this guy and cancelled backdraft also. I know backdraft is more toon accurate but I love this guy's beefy look.

 

Yeah it does look better but that head is going in the box as soon as these below are released.

Regards the wings I shaved the corners down so the ball joint could still stay popped in and gave the arm of the ball a channel in the wing so it could stay stiff and not move anywhere. Makes a big difference again IMO and took less than 5 mins with a dremel:

That seems to look a lot better. I really can't stand the Diaclone wannabe head Hellfire comes with. I'm sticking with Backdraft for now but it's nice to know there are other options.

With Reflector, I could easily pick which one I wanted from the outset, but it's getting harder and harder to choose with so many amazing options for this guy.

 

It's the original toy head and it was in the cartoon.

 

The helmet yes, but the anime style of the face was not in the cartoon.

 

That's why I use the other face, I think it fits better.

I actually think that Hellfire's head/face looks almost exactly like Inferno did in most of the G1 episodes. We all just seem to remember (or like?) his appearance in "Auto Berserk" a bit better than in other episodes. But to be honest, MT have done quite a good job if you look closely...

 

Yeah you make a fair point but I think I prefer the other more rounded head personally. Few more from me then he goes next to Alert in the Detolf:

Did you mod your wings to get them to fold more forward? Mine pop off well before they reach the position they are in in your pic. It looks really good BTW!

 

Agree, the Hellfire head is (IMO) both more toy and toon-accurate than the replacement heads posted. Certainly better than the one with the Ocular Max release.

 

Would really like to see someone come up with replacement wings made of a harder plastic (and slightly larger).

I just ordered Hellfire/Inferno, today...having read this thread and looked at all the most impressive pics, I cant wait to add him to my collection. I already have a spot picked out for him on my shelf right next to TFC Ironwill/Ironhide.

 

Yup I cut a channel in the side of the wings so they'd sit 90 degrees without popping off. They are irritatingly easy to come off in general though.

Still waiting patiently for the new cartoon head too.

 

I can't decide which one I want the most between Hellfire and Backdraft. It looks like Backdraft has more metal? And and a better transformation. But the fire truck mode looks like accurate. Ugh.
