That looks great!
Those eyes make the face look so much better. I think I know what I might be doing soon.
Oooo I like that.....that might have just sealed the deal for me. Will try it on Wrestle tomorrow and see how he looks.
I kind of want to get another and make an EASY Phoenix King custom
Phoenix King Anime Opening
(Altho it totally sounds like they are saying Penis King)
I finally got some time to photograph Hellfire and man I really like this figure. Articulation is great, weight and balance is solid and I really dig the silver accents.
These photos did not come out the greatest, but the figure made up for it!
This guy is awesome. I can't wait to get him
When well lit from behind at certain angles, you can see right through him. So I cut a small rectangle of black cardstock and folded it at a 90 degree angle in between his two seats (when in bot mode). Made all the difference. I still wish he had tinted windows, but small gripe.
I went with this faceplate too. I am probably going to paint one set of his extra eyepieces yellow to match the G1 toy.
I just got him in today (Thanks TCP!!). I noticed the white wings behind his head seem to pop off fairly easily. Anyone tried the future trick on them? Did it work?
Why wouldn't it work? It works for everything
I did. It stiffens them up and makes them less want to just sorta "Flick" off his head easily. They will still pop off if you over extend them but it does help and make them less likely to move easily. They still pop on tightly after too so the fit is good. I just put a small dab on the ball joint and in the socket. Pop them back on and let it sit 24 hours and it's better. It didn't need very much.
I was wondering if you cut into the back of the white piece and made a channel for that ball joint shaft, cleaned up the "point" that is touching his head if it would go almost 90 degrees out? Not sure I want to try but if I was a betting guy I'd bet it'd work because the ball would still hold them on with the socket.
if they didn't pop off easy then it would be the part that would break first when the figure falls over
Man, this toy is friggen great.
MakeToys is fast becoming a real powerhouse in 3P Masterpieces. There are other options for Inferno coming but I am more than happy with this baby. I love the way the bot mode looks, and it's very nicely posable.
Finally, FINALLY received my Hellfire/Inferno. (Figure arrived about two weeks ago in country, was returned to the neighbouring country next day, returned to my country a few days later and was then stuck at customs because they were unable to determine the value on the printed and very clearly visible declaration form...morons.)
I pulled him from his box and fell in love. He's in head even more impressive than his pictures made me believe.
Now comes the problem. I don't care about Grapple as a character and I never had the original toy. It was thus a clear case of me not wanting Wrestle, with him being a store exclusive an added detriment. But now seeing and holding Hellfire.......I feel my resolve evaporating.
Does this help?
get an autobot symbol on that Grapple!
Only thing I dislike about this mold is the lower leg outer sliding panels like to pop out from the sculpt a lot.
Unscrew them, they aren't really needed anyway and the detail showing on the outer leg is accurate anyway..
I like the look on this one better and I do have him, but the transformation on the MMC's one is more impressive and covers the back much better.
