    I skipped Guardia, but the first company that gives me a G2 Defensor or a Guardcity gets my money immediately

    G2 Defensor's color scheme is so awful.... I don't know why people would want it.

    I disagree.

    I love the intensely strong contrast he has between his blacks, dark blues, vibrant reds and neon oranges n teals. He's everything I want in a garish g2 deco.

    Idk if it would carry over well tho.
    Always thought G2 defensor had the weakest colorway

    Regarding a box set release, why my do people care?

    If you want this combiner why not just buy each of the figures now? They are all pretty readily available.

    Whats the point of waiting for a box set? Apologies if I'm not getting it.

    I don't think many would buy a G2 repaint outright but I think if MT made these repaints...

    Groove = Road Rocket
    First Aid = G2 or Sireen
    Streetwise = G2
    Blades = G2 or Fly-up
    Hot Spot = Fire Convoy

    They could pass for a Guard City or G2 Defensor

    See you guys keep saying garish as a negative, keep saying this or that looks like this or whatever and I'm just sitting over here like yes? and your point is?

    Because I thought it was pretty clear by now anyone who wants g2 defensor in any form is very very obviously aware of what he looks like, is fully aware of how harsh and extreme the palette is and that any good sense of traditional color design has been thrown right out the window. And that's exactly why I want it. I want it because its beautifully ugly. The ugliness is exactly what makes it appealing to me.

    Some of my most highly desired figures are modern representations of late g1 and g2 era stuff that all just looks fucking weird as heck. Whether its Hooligan with his tiger stripes, the massive green, pink and bronze Skyquake, the pink, white, gold, blue and red Thunderclash, the Aquaspeeders and Stortroopers in their neon pinks and greens or the Laserrods with their goofy hotrod alts or the rolled around in a crayon box bruticus, menasor and defensor. I want them all for the same reason.

    Because they say FUCK YOU to traditional "realistic" / "normal" color palettes and designs and I love how nuts they get with color.

    Maketoys is going to be extremely discerning when it comes to MTC releases

    why would they do a release of guardia thats going to sell far, far worse than the original? Might be some wierdos who want it for whatever g2 or nutjob color scheme fetish, but surelty its not worth the effort/expense

    maybe as a con exclusive for $600 just to milk that tinyass segment

    I would say that a pastel blue fire engine is far crazier than anything in the G2 set, especially if we consider that a huge motorcycle for a leg on either one is pretty much a wash no matter the color...

    If you are meticulous enough about sanding those tight clearances, and you put on a clear coat, joints can last just fine. It's not going to hold up to the constant handling of a 5 year old, but if you don't ham fist them, they are fine.

    I'm finally getting around to picking up this set. Luckily, I've been able to buy 3 of the 5 for decent prices. Now I am missing just Hi-Med and Katana :thumb . Still wished MakeToys kept the trend of boxsets going for the MtCombiner series as it added much appeal, but c'est la vide. I can't say I am too crazy about the G2 deco (most of those look like they were design when someone was tripping on acid or something :lol ).

    heya---finally got around to putting this beast together. had a helluva time getting him all together. for whatever reason, nothing worked quite like i perceived it should have. even watching video reviews I had issues. anyway, got it together, and it looks awesome. Now would someone please show me how all the big overgrown guns go together to make mr super gun?

    Thanks!!

    Its not that complicated honestly, just take each of the rifles made for the leg guys, one is a left only side, the other a right only side, they each sandwich around the long-magazine machine-gun looking guns that himed and katana had since the long parts are the grips for the combined rifles. Once those three bits are together for both you can easily just slot on the vulcan guns to each which only plug on one way.

    So after Quantron i thought long and hard about Guardia. I heard there were improvements to the combiner designs since Quantron which i was frustrated with. I decided to buy the whole set because i love the look and the reviews have been generally positive.

    I'm confidently say i've given up on 3rd party combiners or perhaps just Maketoys combines. To sum up my thoughts a dozen tabs cant overcome bad design.

    My whole experience has been frustrating and physically painful (lol). My issues are:
    1. Overly complicated transformations.
    2. Terrible QA. I dont care that i have to clip the plastic off Vulcan but i do get really pissed when the joints are too tight or too loose. I can pick up katana and hi med and watch the legs wobble from side to side. My Axel snapped in half at the waist because the legs were too tight. This part SHOULD have been die cast.
    3. Parts just do not fit. MT's famous solution to everything = tabs. And they cant even get this right. HiMed and Katana arms in limb mode just do not fit properly or tightly. Axel - how EXACTLY is he supposed to fit on the leg? Do you connect the ankle pegs, the shin slider and or the shoulder clips? Complicated is one thing but to go through all that and STILL HAVE LOOSE PARTS is frustrating!

    Guardia is an awful, awful experience for me.

    BUT.........

    Combined he's simply beautiful. Beautiful proportions, beautiful to look at. And as messy and complicated the transformation is i still marvel at the engineering, its truly genius in parts. The design on the elbow joint is both functional as a limb and does not detract from the individual bot modes, that's really really impressive.

    I'm feeling impressed and frustrated with Guardia. This is not how i should be feeling after spending over a $1000 on two combiners.
