I'd buy the upgrades to Scrapper and Scavenger! Can you please put those on Shapeways, or offer here? I'm not sure I get what is different with Hook?
Have to look into to Shapeways, never used it before. Note not all part features were 3D printed, 1/16th screw and press pin holes for instance were post drilled. Also printed some of parts in pieces and bonded together (scrapper bucket in 3 pieces). Do you have a experience with a 3D printer, I can let you try my STL files? Also on Scavenger I took cylinders off another model I had that was broken anyway. For Hook whole head/face was redesigned, there are some pics on previous page.
Hey, I've been thinking about picking up one of these but I have a concern about knowing the difference between a KO and the real Maketoys version. How do I tell the difference?
Usually, the place you buy it from is a dead giveaway. What retailer did you have in mind buying it from? I tend to sift through close to 20 different sites, I might be able to help your search.
Do some heavy research on the seller on eBay. Odds are you'll run into a KO much more likely there. That being said, here in BST you'll run into much lower chances it will be a KO (majority of the folks here tend to be excellent), but you may not find one available. @Kuma Style, do you still have your Green Giant Type 61?
Kuma Style sold his green version a while ago, but he may still have his yellow one. I have a loose one available for sale if anyone is interested. I'll throw it up on the BST.
Check BBTS or TFS, even Chimungmung. They're going to sell the originals if you want a new in box one. I saw someone had a sale on it not too long ago... EDIT here you go, some on sale and some not: http://robotoybase.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2791&search=giant Green Giant - Giftset of 6 Make Toys - Green Giant - Set of 6 Pieces TFSource seems the cheapest at $239.00
If you want a Green Giant, I've got one mint in box (box was opened to check the contents but the figure was never transformed) I'll sell you. $210 shipped (if you're in the USA).
In case anyone missed it, new pic of IA's statue of Green Giant. It's literally just him and that still makes me laugh at how awesome it is that an officially licensed company is basically shouting FUCK YEAH MAKETOYS with this thing haha.
Wow, you're right, even down to the kneepads and the details on the genny-arms... Yellow Giant was my first 3P figure(s), and I put him together as they were released separately. I later traded them straight-up for Green Giant. While I've had Quantron and Intimidator/M3 for sale for a while, I don't think I'll ever get rid of Giant.
I've also got a green giant type 61 I'm selling. I'd do $200 plus shipping. If your really close, may split shipping.
Do you still need this piece? Mine is disassembled for joint tightening and stickering, so I could model and make this piece available on Shapeways.
I'm not sure if he's still around, but @Megatron31 as did @tekering, did some amazing custom pieces back in their heyday. They might be able to give you some pointers regarding how to set up to make pieces for fans to buy. Btw, I want a set if you ever startup shop
I still lurk the boards, dont much work these days since my son was born my shop is next to his room and it was pretty much a third shift operation so im semi retired?
Hang in there. You just gotta get through those baby years and then you can share your TF love with him.
oh yeah Im loving it, he will be two in April. I got titan class trypticon and he always wants to set him in the floor and mess with him. I miss the hobby life sometimes. I pop and see what Venksta or Jream is popping out these days, relive the hype machine. Ill get back someday, i still collect and piddle and always have ideas, just no time to move on them. I figure the hand made stuff is kind of gone these days, everyone jumped into digital copies and prints.
Holy crap! The summoning worked!! *chantra mants, gregorian chants* "hmmmmmmmmm, come to me @Selma Hayak!" ... *looks around* ... DANG IT! Glad to see you're still around, bud You were definitely missed. Grats on the kid. He's got a hell of a legacy waiting for him
