If it's up to me (which it's not), regular Prime would be MP-10-sized, super mode would add whatever height it does, and Megatron would be as big as super mode Prime.

I'd say around 11", with non-supermode prime being around 9"

Too big!!!!! Most of the primes of the Unicron trilogy were small. Cybertron prime wasn't much taller than starscream.

Well, speaking as someone who owns and still loves the original Galaxy Concoy/Cybertron Prime Mold...

    • Lack of ankle tilts
    • Lack of waist swivle
    • Lack of ab crunch
    • Lack of wrist swivle
    • Extremely basic finger articulation
    • Lack of ball jointed head
I could go on but the point is that as great as the original is, It can still be made better.

I've also got the original Japanese version. Unless a 3P version is really cheap, I can't really see your list of recommendations as enticing enough. Like the other poster mentioned, for a kids' toy, it is good enough.

They would really need to add new features or fix something fundamentally broken in the original design to warrant a new figure, really.

I'm late to this thread, but I cannot wait for this figure. I liked the original figure but I feel that it's very overrated. I've been wanting a good remake for a while, and I think MakeToys should be able to pull it off pretty well.

I think I might be more inclined to agree with you. Their starscream looks fairly big, I'd say 9"(the top of its head is higher that the top of mp11 shoulder projections sooo yea he's fairly big. I think prime will 10" in regular mode and probably 12-13" in super mode. Megatron will be 12-13". I want prime to be BEEFY in super mode just like he was in the cartoon during SAVAGE CLAW MODE!!!

While your opinion is probably shared by a lot of people, those exact points are what make ADULT collectors want more. Yes for a kids toy for easy transformations and playful fun the old toy is perfectly fine. But look at majority of the 3rd party figures and you can clearly see a lot of people want higher level detail and design with interesting engineering to take their old toys to a much higher level. The improvements will just not be the leaps and bounds from G1 that you are used to for 3rd party.

The old toy is one I leave for my kids to still play with - my collections are ones for me alone. Improvement in design and larger size at least in my opinion, and apparently a good number of others, warrant a new toy.

Galaxy meteor looks to be around 9" so prime should be 10"

If this is an MP scaled release, I'd agree with you, but if it's designed for CHUG then I'd say the original is good enough. The same goes for Fire Convoy, Big Convoy, Gigatron etc. These figures were fairly recent enough to enjoy fairly competent engineering and looked fairly accurate to their cartoon models.

If, however, new features, a fairly cheap price, MP scale, etc are used, then I could see the point. However, as this is basically "Optimus Prime", unless it's significantly different, I believe it won't sell that well for CHUG collectors.

But it IS MP scaled...and I would imagine that just like starscream it'll have MP level articulation.

Then, there you go then. I thought they were making a CHUG figure, but if it's an MP figure to compliment the MP line, then this is fantastic news. That thing is going to be BIG.

Not yet, I'll take a crack at coming up with an exact scale for this and Megatron when I do though...
