Got him today. Overall i'm mostly pleased with him. He looks the part, really like the color scheme. Fits very well with the rest of my MP collection.
Don't like the ankles tho, mine are very loose. But thankfully he got the plastic bit at the bottom of his shin that can rest on his foot, making him alot more stable and can pull of some action poses. But it shouldn't have to be that way, it's just terrible design imo. But from what i've heard the ankles are bad on the MT version too. Also hate the lack of articulation on the hands, i expect more from a bot of this size.
But i still think he's worth the asking price, will probably pick up Hardhead too.

 

Looks like mine just got delivered from baba. Now I'll need to figure out the best way to free up his hip movement. Might just do some cutting of the hip skirts since installing hinges is a bit beyond my level of skill.

Do the guns peg into both hands easily and securely on your copy?

Overall quality and finish of this seems right on par if not ever so slightly lower than the original. My instinct wants to say it doesn't feel QUITE as nice but without having them side by side (got rid of Cupola last year) I can't swear to it. I can say the issues my Cupola had are exactly the same here. The thigh swivels still have that disconcerting give and gaps when the legs are bent. The ankles are actually much worse on this than my Cupola was.

Worst of all though is the head. I know someone said the eyes are smaller but I wasn't prepared for just how small they really are.


 

I had to laugh when I took him out of the box because I've been complaining about Cupolas lack of hip skirts and saying how I'm going to customize the area...well, my Data Clerk arrived ready to party:


Looks like the glue didn't hold. No worries though as now I don't have to unstick the glue myself!

I'm happy with it overall. honestly if I didn't know the KO existed and somebody handed me this I would think it was Cupola.

Yea.. For the price he is better ng offered at, I think most can afford to add him and the KO Ironwill to their collections, guilt free. Even if they aren't your favourite characters, for the cost, why not!

Adding these guys has for better or worse opened me up to also collecting the fanshobby monster bots even though I never saw them in the cartoon or comic. Always a good thing to find a reason to buy more...

I don't have a connection to the Monsterbots myself but I've been thinking about the FansHobby versions. They are certainly Masterpiece in size but I don't know if they're quite masterpiece in style/aesthetics...I dunno. I always wonder how they'd look if MT, KFC, or FansToys did them.

Just got mine in today. I haven't had too much time to mess with him, but just a few points that I noticed:

- Guns slot in fine, but when first putting mine in I tilted them in kind of a 45 degree angle first, then lined up the gun handle at 90 degrees and pushed them down
- The waste ratchets seem very loose
- I don't understand the engineering of the feet. Too much going on especially when you try to pose him
- I wish Yes Model found a way to add a tilting mechanism so the head can look up and down Thanks to all for pointing out the head tilting trick with this guy

I think he looks great, especially for the price. Seems very solid when posed, but trying to do action poses or just moving him around involves a lot of shifting and maneuvering. He definitely is great to look at.

 

This dude's feet are annoying.

 

Yeah, takes some force but once they're in they sit very secure.

Might be an option, will mess a bit more with him and see where i land. Thanks alot for the offer.

Do you guys think the replacement parts kit available thru MakeToys and retailers will help with the feet on this KO as well or are they even really needed at all?

 

I know you mentioned you didn't' have much time with this but are you saying it doesn't have a neck tilt at all or that it isn't enough for your taste? Ben''s review seems to show the part there but doesn't say much about what the head has for tilting, as he slightly attempts to do it. Still waiting for mine but getting to the point of just off'ing it and being happy with the original. Too many downgrades with this copy IMO, regardless of cost difference. Glad everyone is enjoying it though.
