You know we'll end up with a 20% or more markup from the major online retailers too, so probably like $130+. I initially really wanted this. For $130 or more, though, I'd probably pass. I'd spend $100 plus reasonable s/h, but no more.

 

That is a bit of an ouch for this thing. I mean $85 is pretty much the treshold I have on trailers and such.

Also, am I the only one who thinks this would look bad ass if scourge ever came out. Not sure I like the Optimus colors for this. Also, I would like to see chrome at this cost point.

 

Very nice, but yeah...$130 is a no go for me. Maybe a Scourge repaint...maybe.

 

HAHA! I'm not even going to brag about being right. When it comes to combiners, a box set is inevitable. This has it, Herc will have it and FP's Menasor will have it. It's just smart business.

For real? They are going to release a G2 version first and then the boxset in green? I can see some logic to that thinking but it sucks that I will have to wait for the boxset. Silver lining? Giant will still be completed in my collection before Herc is.

Le Sigh to the truth of this. It looks like I am going to have to start putting my trust in overseas shops to save a boat load of coin.

You know, maybe I am naive here, but not sure if their will be a 20% markup in these guys. I have been looking around at FP stuff and it seems that they are price fixed across the board. It doesn't look like their is much of difference between BBTS/TFSource/RK and the rest. The well documented BBTS/TFSource price hike was the only difference I have seen.

Maybe that is the begining of these markups, but I hope not.

 

We don't know how close to FP MakeToys is. We can't assume definitively that they'll benefit from FP's price control. We only know that FP gave MT tips.

Considering most people are making excuses, justifying and supporting these price hikes; I'm sure this is the beginning of a new trend.

 

I am going to be an optimist here and hope it is not. Only because the MP stuff is starting to come. I could only imagine what the prices would be if we had to pay for the companies to make the MP stuff and then the markup.

Could you imagine the markup on something like MP Soundwave. Primus save us.

 

Just because you don't like a price increase, doesn't automatically make it unjustifiable across the board.

 

The $20 price hike per Hercules figure is unjust. Unless you call optimizing profits because an item is just. I call it advantagous.
