I'm going to be using Tamiya TS-4 Greman grey for the paint color for the waist area and upper legs... I definitely love the white vinyl label wraps. Also used Tamiya Gloss White along the seams to fill in any spots.

Did you take it apart to paint, or just hand brushed it?

I'll be taking the figure apart. I've already taken apart the arms to paint the mid sections of the arms.

Are you planning to airbrush? If so, saree you going to hit it with a top coat after?

Yep, I'm quite happy with this guy.
Not sure if I'm in for the rest yet but this is a great figure. TMReviews was right in that it feels like a figure from a few years ago. For me, that's perfect.

Alrighty... got some of the new vinyl labels applied from @jimmyh. I have painting to do for the thighs and the rest of the arms. I'll be using the vinyl labels on the upper arms once I get them back assembled.

Was the preorder price from a few years back?

Anyone have any hacks or suggestions to help these figures stand more solidly?

I've lined up the toes with the thruster in the heel and the little spike. But the weight makes him a little wobbly.

Cut off the spike (or cut half off) , then he can stand flat on his toes and heel.

Is it hard to take the legs apart? I'm thinking of swapping the thighs between them, and painting the white thighs maroon.

I took it apart mostly, exept the feet. I used tape and stuff to cover the parts around the feet. It‘s all spray painted.

So does thrust come out of the box with the purple knee pads? Are those aftermarket labels of some kind? I keep seeing pictures plain, and pictures with purple!

Sorry guys, I might sound lame as all hell, but I needed to make an account to say this. I been “lurking” this forum for the last 2 years. I wanted to collect MP “Arc” only transformers, but coneheads have always been one of my favorites. Long story short, I recently purchased all 3 MakeToys Coneheads and I was really disappointed. I usually only stuck with FT or Takara MP’s, but I didn’t like the mold on the Takara MP coneheads. Yes, they’re out dated. I usually stick to only FT or Takara, but decided to take a chance on these MakeToys coneheads. Holy shit, I don’t like them. Beautiful figures in both modes, but it really reminded me of what “3rd party” meant. I really didn’t want this to be my “first post” and trash figures, but Jesus Christ, these are not good. Apologies to anybody offended, or paid what I paid for all 3.

Sorry to hear that, and that you feel so strongly that you actually set up an account in order to post it...

But do you want to elaborate on *why* you don't like them? What do you mean about "what 3rd party meant"? You've given precious little details about what you don't like about them other than you *really* don't like them - which is valid, but not helpful to others.
