Ok so this may not be the right thread but did y’all see the all white make toys seeker that looked like leader 1 in jet mode? I wonder if they resculpted the face.

 

I’m in the same boat. I like them, but I don’t know if I like them enough to spend the money just to complete the set.

 

They have two new molds coming. So they've sunk more money into the brand.

 

Does anyone know if KApow toys will honor their preorders, I emailed them and have not heard back.

I honestly figured that was just an older prototype pic of the seeker mold. Hadn't considered that.

 

i saw that and did you notice the bot mode head was specifically not shown. it was lying down and feet toward the camera. Also the two grey areas on top of the fighter mode are grey where leader one has those grey vent like things. also...cockpit color is blue-ish like leader 1's. that being said, it'd be cool but they didn't do any other retooling so its just a seeker cosplaying leader 1 at that point. i am kinda starved for an mp style leader one in mp seeker size but at the same time its a bit disappointing if a redeco and new head is all we ever get for a TF Styled "MP leader 1". i'd get it as a stand in until somebody does one though. haha.

any chance ramjet's deco isn't final?

Hope Thrust's deco isn't either, only thing they need to change or simply include is some white face/yellow eyes options.

 

And paint his knee pads purple.

I am well aware of this so I will quote myself. "Ask me again after June if all of these releases are out and Maketoys has teased more releases. If these are all quality figures, sell well, and Maketoys announces their prior figures we can all be excited." Again, the beginning of this thread with virtually completed figures that became vaporware will tell you that 5 years of evidence should provide you with some skepticism. Businesses are not going to represent themselves as dead if they want business. I believe the two new headmasters are likely Apeface and Snapdragon that like any business may or may not get made depending on the success of the current preorders. Designs for Silverback, Reticle, and Cross Dimension releases were are all abandoned as sunk costs. However, the level of sunk costs I was referring to were Highbrow and Brainstorm level where you have prototypes and a year or more of development.

Outside of Ramjet and Thrust I may buy figures from this brand again but I am never going to have that level of comfort with them being stable. It literally will be figure by figure until we see years of consistency like we did in the 2016 time frame. The Sunstorm crowdfund had quality problems. My copy of Endgame was not the same quality as the prior Seekers. As of now, Ramjet and Thrust have incorrect paint apps. This a brand where we need to see things early and often for reassurance. I really want them to survive as I always loved this company and we need them with FT and XTB carrying most of the load with a little help from Fans Hobby and Zeta. I hope they have a solid design, prototype, model of Brainstorm they are revealing soon rather than simply relaying information in DMs through Chogoking. I think given the history with this company that is a fair expectation.

 

Did TCP change the release date to Dec ‘23 or has it been that way for a while? (O swear my POs had an earlier date)

TFSource still says April but I always assumed that meant December anyway. It usually does. Gotta love a hobby that automatically makes you do math in your head to match the numbers on the screen, whether it be time or money.

 

The last time I heard is March/April but in Maketoys, we trust but we never know also.

Well, if they are delayed then I hope they take the time to correct all the mistakes on these figures.

Comparing these to the animation models there are a lot of parts that are the wrong colour on both: thighs, pelvis, sides, and with Ramjet also the shoulders and Thrust his eyes and face.

And I'd really hope they include new a pelvis piece, because for the coneheads that should be pretty angular and not this smooth curvy one.

 

The wings are too high on Thrust. The wings are supposed to be sitting by his waist. The knee pads are painted wrong and as mentioned, no white face and yellow eyes on Thrust.
