Yeah, I legit didn't understand the concept of the whole Haslab thing when Star Saber was going on (nor did I know who the character was), and I hadn't (re)started collecting or was tuned in whatsoever when Unicron was in the works. So, yeah, I jumped on Deathsaurus right away.

That's a different story, different circumstances. I feel for them too but they're out of the context of who I'm talking about anyways.

I'd very much like for these figures to be released at retail because ideally I'd like for anyone to have an opportunity to purchase said figures because I'm aware that you don't always have access to disposable income but it's very human and understandable to still have wants and so forth. Shit comes up, life throws unexpected stuff at you and suddenly you aren't able to spend as much on hobbies as you once were.

I'm aware it probably won't happen, but it'd be a nice, pro-consumer move on their end.

In the same sense, I wish Unicron were made available again, because funding ended a little before I got into this hobby. But I also understand why they don't, and shouldn't, reissue or reuse the mold or anything. And thus I will probably never have him unless I am willing to drop 1000-1500 bones. But that's okay, I can't have it all, and I can't take any of it with me when I go to meet my maker...

Pretty much this (except I have a Unicron). Although I could totally get behind a two-tiered system of some sort where HasTak sells a basic, stripped-down version of the HasLab projects, missing all the bells and whistles, etc. at retail, and then sell the beefed-up version as the HasLab product. Or something like that, I don't know it's Friday and... it's just been a long week :lol

Ideally they could also do the same with Unicron since what I said also applies to him, especially given that he was even more pricey.

I don't think people should be funding these projects with the mindset that they should always be exclusive and if Hasbro were to ever release them at retail it'd be some 'betrayal' on their end. While I totally understand the pragmatic purpose of exclusivity they're ultimately rather anti-consumer and simply prey on the Fear Of Missing Out mentality.

I think a version with less bells and whistles would be a nice compromise, rewarding those who helped fund the figure with extras but also allowing those less fortunate another chance at something pretty rad.

For those that have supported the haslab. Would you be opposed to a second run? Through haslab of course, the box can also be marked differently to make it easier for collectors to tell which one is which.

This i believe would be fair, it won't be mass retail but gives those who couldn't (myself included) for whatever reason a second chance at getting this guy.

I wouldn't mind. I think people who missed out for budgetary or coming into the fandom late could definitely use a second chance. The Taiwanese people too. Exclusivity was never an issue of mine. I'm just excited to have these characters.

I wouldn't be opposed at all. Star Saber is a pretty important guy in the context of jpg1 and deserves to be more accessible.

Crazy things happen, but I personally don’t like any of those suggestions, it ruins the exclusivity and fun for the people that backed the project. If they go near Star Saber again anytime soon it’s basically taking a big fat shit on what Haslab is about.

And why tie up resources? I propose the people that want a second run should fund five Deathsaurus Haslab each to help me get my throne first, then Hasbro can grant you whatever you want. Quid pro quo. :p

Same. I don't know what it is people are going on about "reputation" or "trust" for Haslab's "system", but to me that just sounds like scalper talk. You don't want another run because it'd devalue the one you already have. Meanwhile releasing Victory Saber a second or third time would not affect me in the slightest because I backed the project day 1 because I don't want an investment or bragging right I want a Star Saber.

Also because I'm smart/irresponsible with my money, take your pick.

I bought an extra for trade bait later and Im ok with a rerelease. Same price, no tier bonuses. Everyone gets the main character, haslab backers feel like they got a little extra for their money, hasbro gets more profit. Everyone wins. Of course, if I was Hasbro I would make it another Haslab effort to make sure its worth the cost of firing up the factory again.

I don't buy stuff to scalp, so I would be fine with it.

Why should anyone be opposed to a second run? Hell I even find the idea of malding over it being released at retail to be incredibly petulant. You could feel satisfied that you helped fund a release that more people now have access to, or you could just be pissed off that more people who may not have been as fortunate at the time also have the chance to now own it as well and it loses its 'precious' status as an exclusive.

Yeah, I know where I stand on the matter.

If you backed this toy and suddenly think you have some level of ownership on what Hasbro choses to do with it, that's called having unwarranted self-importance.

I literally just lost my income stream right when Victory Saber went up and only got it back after the backing window closed.

My only hope right now is someone kind enough in the community selling me an extra copy or their no longer wanted order at cost plus shipping or buying someone HasLab Deathsaurus in exchange for their extra Victory Saber.

I just want the cool robots Hasbro, please let me be able to buy them when I choose instead of FOMO'ing the community.

It happens, man. :/ I totally understand this and even though I was fortunate enough to be able to back these releases I truly do wish there was a way for people who didn't get a chance to have their shot.

Things have been hard the past couple of years, people struggle to afford rent and food let alone stuff related to their hobbies. There will be those who say "well just go without, food / rent is more important", but those types of people have usually never had to struggle to make ends meet or provide for their families. If you're always able to buy new releases and never have to worry about things when it comes to money that's great, and I'm sure you worked hard to get into such a position. But that doesn't give you an excuse to look down on and be rude to people who aren't as fortunate, especially when we're talking about toys.

You can be happy that you were able to fund these things while also not being a privileged twat about it, you know? It's not that hard.

I wish Hasbro would adopt Slacker Backer programs for funded projects like other Crowd Funded projects often do.

I would love if they did a second run of HasLab Victory Saber. Same price and product just giving everyone another chance at the fan favorite character.
