Star Saber is one of my favorite characters (probably my favorite) but hasbro making him haslab and giving him the $180 price tag and dumping in a bunch of useless stuff is stupid. With Deathsaurus on the horizon we need to strike now before hasbro takes another great character and throws them into haslab. Haslab should really be only for large characters like Unicron or Primus, not Star Saber.

How hasbro could release Star Saber as regular release: First, make Saber and the V-star sold by them selves so neither of them have to suffer to fit the commander class budget, and if hasbro is really nice they will release Victory Leo as a leader. By doing this we would get rid of the stand, micromasters, and blast effects but do we really need those?

If anyone else has any other ideas then you are free to put them in this board, I hope we can get Star Saber as full release.

Victory Saber is never gonna come to retail. If it did it's gonna damage the reputation and trust of the Haslab system.

 

It just isn't going to happen. The HasLab paywall exists and is a thing. Why they deem certain things worthy of being behind it? I don't know.

This is just the way it is, now.

 

I'm probably going to get yelled at for this but, is Victory Leo really needed? I mean Star Saber by himself is enough for me cause all the backers of VS can have VL and everything else but some minor down graded Star Saber is good enough

 

To me no I don't need him personally but I know many want him.

 

Look I know it sucks when a character you want is put behind some exclusive wall or price locked out of your range but releasing any of the Haslabs at retail (even without the bonus stuff) would pretty much destroy whatever faith people have in backing Haslabs.

 

100% that's the big reason why none of the Haslab products have been released at retail. It would destroy everything.

 

Then hasbro should make a new figure of Star Saber (maybe without the saber gimmick) for Earthspark as a way to let all the people who didn't get a chance to back the haslab to have a Star Saber figure

 

Ignoring many other issues, I have to ask, am I reading correctly in the initial post that you propose selling the V-star as a separate commander class release? At mass retail no less?

 

It's certainly possible for Star Saber to show up in more TF toylines now but it would definitely be a lot more simplified version of the character. Like how the Cyberverse Volcanicus is a non-combiner action figure.

 

They might, just as one day they will make a new Unicron, but it won’t be soon.

Releasing HeroQuest to retail did real damage to the new HasLab.

 

If it can be sold as leader then it will be sold as leader, I just thought that because of the V-star's size and the big chunk of plastic it is it would be commander.

I would ALWAYS rather toys get a mainline release, but I understand that stuff doesn't always fit into mainline budgets and/or marketing might not think that certain characters will sell enough copies. So I get it.

Personally, I would not feel "betrayed" or "duped" if they did a second run of the toy, but I have sympathy for anyone who might feel that way.


I do not think Hasbro will ever re-release a Haslab toy to mass retail (even if they legally can), and I even think a second limited run is almost certainly never going to happen either. But I do think Hasbro is learning that JPG1 has an audience and I would not be shocked to see another Star Saber in the future. One might even pop up in something like Earthspark even if it's not Generations.

 

No chance that this SS is gonna get released in Earthspark when they aren't even doing anything outside of Deluxes.

Your best bet is finding one for a good price or someone wanting to trade a Haslab VS for something.

 

It doesn't need to be leader class or voyager size

 

The problem isn't really the exact class, I don't think they are going to sell essentially a powerup accessory that doesn't transform into a separate figure and can barely be considered a complete vehicle on its own. Especially at any of the larger classes.

Honestly I think that kind of thing would only appeal to more hardcore collectors, and most at this point would already have invested in either the MP and/or the Haslab version.
