    Why was Penny such a dick toward his new roommate Quentin? I dont care if Penny was telepathic or whatever. his attitude stunk and his clothes by the way made him look like a stinky bum or whatever

    Well all the Breakbill's characters are filtered through Quentin's perception. And all of them are jerks to one degree or another till he gets to know them.
