Destined to follow the same fate as "Dungeons and Dragons" with Jeremy Irons and "Battleship"

I'd prefer an Animated film that focused on the card game.

Hell, an animated series as well.

Eh...what's exciting about seeing people play the card aspect of this thing? I could see if maybe it had to do with magic cards being an aspect of powers, but even that can get redundant. If a fantasy movie is being made about beasts and magic, I want to see crazy battles with some wicked looking monsters + spell casters, and NOT THIS:

I agree; give me high fantasy or give me death!

Having run tournaments for MTG for the past 18 odd years, I'm of two minds on this. One side of me loves the fiction of the game especially the in the early years with the Brothers War and all of the events that sprang up from it. Then the other side of me remembers the D&D movie (and the more recent Battleship flick) and I cringe at the thought of another potential waste of film.

I guess I can hope they've learned from past errors and make a great fantasy film. But I'm not going to bet on it.

As for the vid, while I've had players just like those two in my shop, I can thankfully say I've never had a table flip happen.
