Yeesh, these guys are just going to make a toy of everybody.  In fact, the sheer number of toys lined up is really really odd in the third party space

Oh man, have I been there. I go through this cycle where I consider dropping the MP line altogether and making the switch to legends exclusively when I see these 3P legends figures. Right now I've got 2 different lines going, and it's getting expensive. But it's tough to give up the MP stuff.

    This.

Aren't they being a tad... AMBITIOUS??? It's incredibly odd for a "new" 3P to plan so many releases at once... without having a single figure's sales help fund the next. :sly:  I have to believe this is a group of veterans, who have lined up some big pre-orders with shops, because it's all looking more like rumor than reality.

I've often guessed that Magic Square is the designers from DX9's War in Pocket line. Similar G1 aesthetic, polished designs, 3mm hands...

And since they started releasing figure previews, there has been NO legends scale news out of DX9, which has to be more than a coincidence.

Also, compare MS Blaster to DX9 Soundwave.... For me, the biggest 'tell' comes down to how similar Soundwave's open left hand is to Blaster's open hands.

Bring on ambition. Waiting all year for Iron Factory to release a combiner set grates my interest a bit.
And the two use the same "tape" sizes! I've already started on designing Eject and Rewind to go with him.

I updated the lineup graphic and since we don't know the numbers, they are omitted. Obviously they have a Motormaster coming and they have a possible remold of Ultra Magnus as God Ginrai but they haven't been officially announced yet. Its a good line up and I suspect the designer from DX9 War in Pocket is behind them but they need to start releasing some. I would hate them to spend all this money making test shots and getting nothing back.

I’m a bit confused here. So these new TF line are MP based to be in a standard Hasbro deluxe scale???

They are legends scaled to each other, so a little guy like Beachcomber will be a lot smaller than bigger dudes like Inferno and Ultra Magnus.

Did anyone tell them there's more to it than just making announcements? Making an actual product is a pretty important step in the process.

Could be worse, you could be a Hot Toys and 1/6 collector too like I am.

(And these are old pics, figures have been added or replaced on both shelves. (And I have many other shelves)

Hello I'm Tekkaman and I have a toy addiction.

(Though a lot of this is a build up of years of collecting) So it's many small and medium purchases building up over time.

A quick glance at BBTS shows $50 USD for Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus, $30 for the mini-bots and $40 everyone else (up for pre order) so far.

I won't lie I think that is a tad steep, but when I look at Iron Factory's prices lately, and the quality of MS' prototype sculpts (though I'll wait until we see final, retail versions) the prices aren't too bad.

Why wasn't this company around when I started collecting these OS figures?

...presuming that they continue the scale standards established by war in pocket, they’re scaled for ‘standard sized’ big bots to match hasbro’s combiner wars shockwave and takara’s hybrid style convoy, with individual characters slightly larger or smaller as appropriate...

    0B404C9F-CF11-44D2-A681-4D3C466CC0D5.jpeg

...so, a bit larger than iron factory and a bit smaller than mech planet, right in that sweet spot established by official figures for legend-class renditions of standard-sized characters, ~10cm/4in...

I did a bit of digibashing on all the confirmed bots in the line up. I am looking forward to these.

Firstly, this company must take the award away from FansToys for having the most figures announced but waiting to be produced.

Secondly, that Trailbreaker digibash, looks better than any TB we've had so far imo.

I'm only collecting Autobot MP and CHUG but these guys are tempting... especially their lean and mean Ultra Magnus!
