yeah what is that...???
Soundblaster with his black ensemble he picked up at HotTopic while shopping for emo cassettes. Yeah... dumb joke.
^These are what I hope Soundwave comes with.
However, I could see MS giving us 2 tapes with SW like Buzzsaw and Frenzy, then doing a 4 pack of tapes with Ravage, Rumble, Ratbat, and the drone thingy tape hopefully for around a 40$ or less price point.
That's how you get MS fiends like me to buy the whole kit and caboodle and milk us for every last penny.
We'll end up being x3 sets at +or‐ 40$ + 30-50$ in shipping so around 150-180 total for Soundwave, Soundblaster, and 7 tapes.
That's what I paid for my TT MP-13 reissue with the 5 main tapes.
Mind you, this is not a complaint rant, just a simple post trying to get my head around the total number of what this will cost.
Has there been any other news on the soundwave version? Seen places have preorder with same dates as soundblaster but nothing on just soundwave.
Soundwave comes with two, MS already stated so.
A few more in hand videos to make the wait feel like forever lol. Soon, we shall feast!
i'm not pre-ordering or purchasing any MS sound-"whatever" versions they are releasing until they give us all the cassette options they are going to do so i can get as many of them as i can in the best cost-effective manner for myself.
plus the recent Canada Post lock down has me handcuffed from making any eBay purchases anyway directly from China!
if only MS would package all the cassettes in one tidy package like there is for the THF MP cassettes.
Yeah I checked them yesterday but apparently the preorder isn’t up yet.
@those scuffs on top of the tape deck mode...
Where did you see scuffs?
The glossy bits
I was kinda hoping their finish would be a bit more like their Smokescreen
The lack of effort here to look even half as cohesive as a 40 year old toy is disappointing.
A real knee slapper right there
The back of the cassette player is a mess. The hands are sticking out and the guns hang inside a very obvious panelformed cavity. It doesn't look much better than trying to make the Action Master "transform." I just don't like the trend of trying to turn a robot into something vs how they used to turn something into a robot.
And you might try linking to actual images instead of cached search engine results.
Lol.. wow. Somebody's new here.
That's actually not the first time I've seen this argument. The G1 molds had more or less flawless alt modes, and the bot modes were sketchy. A lot of more recent releases focus more on accurate bot modes, with compromises made to the alt mode. It doesn't bother me that much but it is somewhat of an issue. DX-9 Soundwave and MS Blaster, and I guess the MS Soundwave are the only real offenders that come to mind off the top of my head. Their fronts all look pretty good but the backs are messy. To be honest it sort of reminds me of the complaints about NA Megatron. Yeah, the backs do look bad but I hardly ever see the back of my figures.
Now that I think about it, that Hybrid Convoy from a few years back was awful - like they weren't even trying. And most of the HasTak combiners look pretty bad from the back too. I think as long as a figure looks good from the angles I actually use, I'm okay. Blaster / Soundwave / Megatron / Combiners are fine by me, that THS Convoy was a disaster.
That is classic Magic Square mold imperfection. Its on every single one of their figures.
