Since Magic Square doesn't seem to want to re-release their Laserbeak, I just opted to buy the Newage Re-release. Which then inspired me to mod my soundwave with magnets too. Thankfully I still have a bunch of small ones from when I was building Gunpla! (Tip use some tape or sticktack to hold onto these little things. I lost 2 trying to put it in the slot). The mod required just a touch of shaving to make the slot longer, and I was able to push it in, and keep it there with a small touch of super glue. I also stuck some cut down staples to MST Buzzsaw so he wont feel so left out. I also put in a picture of the magnets if you want to see what size it was and what it is. I had bought these in Japan from Yodobashi Camera 10 years ago...happy hunting.

what is the deal with this figure? everywhere I see it for sale, it is always without any cassettes. I know that there is a separate cassette pack but even if you can track that down, you won't have Rumble.

Or lazerbeak. It was a horrible way of doing it, and they've doubled down since the original launch.

Sadly you are paying for the sins of every knuckledragger that insists Rumble is red, when he is in fact, blue.

I'm thankful to have the whole set. I kinda wish there was a way for everyone else to get the whole tape team, but, my evil side likes feeling special. I'm more torn than a triple changer that only wants two modes.

Same here, so happy that I pulled that trigger and got both to complete the set.
Did they not release a few metallics with laserbeak ?.

Soundwave seems to be a popular one for 3rd parties to pull a dick move. FT Acoustic Wave couldn't even pack in one popular tape you had to buy the separate box set if you wanted Lazerbeak, Ravage or Rumble. I mean even TT gave you Lazerbeak in the box. On a side note some FT fanboys on this forum actually like this. Pathetic.

What is wrong with making the 3 popular tapes available without requiring you to purchase the expensive Soundwave? A large number of people were happy with the Takara MP and only wanted to upgrade the tapes. Including any tape with Soundwave makes getting them all difficult, but Rumble, Ravage and Laserbeak are all immensely more popular than Frenzy so more people would want them so it seems like the most consumer friendly way to handle it.

Obviously nothing wrong if you actually wanted to just purchase the tapes. But plenty wrong if you wanted the newest and best Soundwave but don't want to be forced to buy the overpriced tapes just to have Lazerbeak on SW's arm. Which I think most collectors would fall into this category because it's the most iconic look.

i bought the latest releases of soundwave and the tape pack. hate to break it to you, but another dick move is the tape pack doesn’t come with the blue dude (not going to get into a naming war here) nor laserbeak. so as if now, there’s zero way of getting these two tapes other than through the secondary market. i have yet to fill this gap bc i refuse to pay the ridiculous amount they’re going for

I understand what is best for people depends on what direction you are going for your own collection, but just because it wasn't best for you don't mean it was an unreasonable move. Calling people pathetic for liking the way FT did it because it was beneficial to them, or at least wasn't terrible for them seems overboard.
