Another scale debate. I'm not big on telling people how or what they should post but, just so you know, this passed the point of idiotic several pages ago.

Or that's when it goes to my desk. Cuz that's what my deskbot collection is and it's awesome. I've even got a couple of Iron Factory bots in there for good measure along with a couple of Hasbro titans.

Look at the underside shot of MST Datsun. They use every bit of space for parts. NA keeps it simpler.

The hood is longer on the NA too. MS sacrificed the proportions of the car (shorter hood, longer trunk and cab).

NA puts all of that long hood as the chest/upper body, and since MS has a shorter hood, they have more they can put into the lower and mid body of the bot.

At least that’s how it appears to me. The NA car is more like the MP with the long hood, and MS looks to have a shorter hood.

What is it you’re saying about the hood?

Yep, shorter hood makes for a more lanky torso and the longer rear of the car, for longer legs. That said, NA could have had extendable legs or a lever system or any other thing to make their legs longer, and cut the hood before the windshield for the torso, but I think it was a deliberate choice to either go with the scale chart height, or be more toylike, or get a unique look, or cost, or whatever.

The length of the hood (bonnet for the UK friends), from windshield to bumper. It's short when compared to MP and newage. Not in measurement but in ratio to rest of car. The hood on the magic square actually looks kind of stubby.

Yeah and I was adding to the conversation about how MS is taller in bot mode than NA when the the car lengths are the same.

I was trying to say that the shorter front end of the MS means that there’s more car to become the robots legs and torso, hence it helps the robot be taller than the NA Datsuns.

Alt looks a lot better in these pics. Maybe the comparison shots with the MP stretched it out with a wide angle lens?

i think spraying the outside of this bot with a clear coat is a terrible idea. the result is now the exterior looks like complete shit.

^Good to see them putting out something other than Primes. While I love all their Primes, I would like to see the rest of seasons 1-4 before I hit 50, which surprisingly, isn't that far off.

    Looks pretty good to me.

Voyagers and leaders are legends+, deluxes are MS, and minibots are newage or ms. Whatever I think looks better.

im definitely into legends and i know MS has always been in the higher side. but these prices are definitely getting a little out of hand. at around 40 a pop im not even interested. especially when there arent premium finishes or bonus junk.

Yeah, $36 a pop is definitely more than the usual but MS was always kinda high anyways. Prowl is my main objective in the set so by no means are the rest a priority

So is the pre-order on tf source no good now? They have a pre-order for the 3 pack but now people are seeing that it's not gonna be a 3-pack? I'm confused.

How much was Sideswipe, can't remember.. $30, maybe? That was a year and a half ago, I'm assuming the parts+assembly are similar enough between the two. Not sure what accounts for the price inflation. In general I'd say there are more parts and these require more assembly labor than IF figures (and maybe NA for the datsun bros at least), and I bet their plastic costs more, but then they probably spend less of paint and decals (though I'm guessing that's a minimal differentiator.)

yeah, it was more appealing to get all three for $75 than singles for just over a hundred.
