MS v2 is still a production test figure, we don't know for certain if the final figure will have painted or translucent windows. Chances are it will be the painted version of course.

 

Well, technically, it is unfinished. I agree about the clear windows, but I'm willing to wait for the finished product, at this point.

 

My bad then. I saw the preorder listing on TCP and assumed that was the finished product.

 

I don't know. MS milked their last Optimus Prime harder than any other mold they released. I am going to bet the intial release will have painted windows and a few months later we'll get a version with clear windows and a few other minor changes.

 

I am a clear window fan. Its going to very tough passing on the first release, but I can not stand the opaque windows, and they got me for two Opaque 1.0's. Not doing this again on 2.0.

 

I feel like we will get a clear window version at some point if the original release doesn’t have them. Then maybe that would be my point to swoop in and buy a used V2 that doesn’t have translucent bits.

 

Fuck all this $100 nonsense, went bombus, although they show January as release.

 

I have the first edition ordered, but if I like it enough and they do release one with clear windows, I'll very likely be selling the first one to fund the clear window version.

 

I feel like a January release is more likely anyways. We pretty much just got colored test shot photos so I think it’s unlikely that MS can get this out quickly. Late December at the earliest.

 

Daaamn. I guess I'm getting too stingy but I already balked at $80 before shipping. $120 is definitely too much for me.

 

Yeah, I know. But It will most likely be the same as the '1.0'...

Wait for the later release to get the superior version.

 

Considering their Shockwave's lackluster sales performance and given that we all know this to be just the first stop for this mold on a longer tour to better destinations, I'm predicting the unpainted, non-windowed first issue OPv2 won't come close to selling out and not long after release will be ubiquitous on eBay for sub-80 bucks.

I had no idea clear windows on OP were so important to people until this thread. Lol

 

Shockwave and Prime are no where near the same league as far as popularity so if you're basing it on that, I'd have to say you're prediction is questionable. Optimus transcends class and scale and with a figure of this complexity there's going to be legends collectors buying this, plus chug, mp, hastak and everyone in between just because it's Prime.

But hey, that's just my prediction. It could be a case where everybody has complaints about price vs worth vs NewAge option and stores don't get a ton of pre-orders, therefore lowering their confidence in ordering a bunch and as a result it'll be in demand and sell out fast.

Happened with MS Soundwave. Everyone complained (myself included) about how the blue was too light and the crappy business practice of packing laserbeak with soundblaster, but a few days after mine shipped from ShowZ, they were sold out. Now try finding one. And Sdubs is arguably the 3rd most popular, well at least top 5.

 

Just makes it look better imo. I think I wouldn’t mind black paint windows

 

curious, where did you get that their shockwave sold poorly?

 

You can still find shockwave at retailers, but other recent MS figs vanished quickly.
Edit: at least I assume that’s where he’s getting it from, I had the same thought.

 

It's readily available for less than original retail - sub 40 bucks with many eBay sellers - now a good bit of time after its release, with a host of mediocre to poor youtube reviews. Not par for MS's course. I also would've expected a repaint by now, which hasn't materialized.

 

Hope there's some other explanation for this because I really want a dark metallic version of Shockwave to pair up with metallic Megatron.
