Finally got around to opening my Magnus (the 45th Magnus in my collection).

What is there to say that hasn't been said.... maybe nothing. Maybe everything.

Yes, it has the small blemish on the front grill. But aside from that?

Dear god this is one of the most amazing figures I own. Particularly amazing is how fucking clean the legs fill out in robot mode.

And how the rear wheel set flips around so it sits flat in robot mode? The attention to detail is just... beautiful.

Just got my Magnus in an opened him up. Really cool figure and I like him a lot already, but...

    He has two left hands.

I have no idea how to contact Magic Square directly, so I'm going to try my luck with the retailer and hope they can help out.

Hey sorry if I missed it, but anyone have size comparison shots with GT Prime and MFT Megs? Thinking about picking this guy up on flash sale but want to see how they look with those guys first.

MS Magnus and MFT Megs are essentially the same height.

I had the same issue with PapaToys Hot Rod! :banghead:  So maybe it's a new thing with Legends toys.

I would recommend everyone check the hands on their copies. CAREFULLY.

The guy who misassembled my Hot Rod cleverly rotated the hand around, so it LOOKED like the hands were correct. :mad

I kind of like the PapaToys version - it's beefier.

Although, looking at this pic... maybe it's TOO BIG. :banghead:

    WHY??? :lol

    Sigh...

I'm just trying to convince myself it's okay because Magnus was always larger than the rest. :sly:  But... ehhh....

The Magic Square version is nice, too, but too skinny, imo. Maybe that's more screen accurate?

I wonder if the perception that MST is overly skinny is partly due to the MP version. When MP UM came out, I recall a good bit of chatter -- not from everyone, but from plenty of folks -- about him being too chunky (and tall). But by this point we've grown used to that figure and perhaps it's altered our sense of how UM looks, with anything significantly less bulky appearing skinny as a result. Because considering a picture like the one below (not mine) on its own, it's hard for me to see the figure as particularly skinny. Anyway, just a hypothesis! (And I still do wish he were a little taller. :lol )

I think MS Magnus is great in bot mode. The only reason I have for wishing he was a bit bigger is because of a trade-off with his vehicle size. I can't un-see that picture I saw of the Magnus cab fitting in the back of DX9 Prime's trailer. Their truck cabs should be essentially the same size.

Then I saw how large the Papa Toys one was... and I was back to the fence on either figure. I may just skip him altogether for the Legends scale unless something else comes along. It's that or basically never transform him. LOL
