looking to stir up trubs, like to hear it here it go.

why we mad about the lack of tail articulation? i’ve only seen sludge use his tail, in the movie on unicron’s ass. perhaps it was more prominent in earlier episodes…

Snarl is the only one I care about tail articulation at all, and even then it wouldn't be a deal breaking level issue.

Not your specific question, but to the question why tail articulation is good to have on a TF dino:

    1) more dynamic and life like, and more fun to play, less like a statue.

    2) by bending the tail, can squeeze in better in different places, thus giving more flexibility.

Because my imagination isn't limited to only what happened in the cartoon? There's all kinds of things that any given character never did in the cartoon but that doesn't mean that I don't want my figures to be able to do them. I do a lot of reenacted scenes but that's not the only thing I do. Because it's hard to get the dinobots into dynamic poses in alt mode (Slag, Swoop, and Snarl usually have no head swivel and Grimlock's is only useful if he's standing straight up) so every bit of available articulation helps. Add in the shape of their feet and it's really difficult to make the dinos do anything other than just stand there (MST Grim can bend his knees, which is a huge plus, but you still need to keep his feet flat on the ground so you're pretty much limited to moving his feet slightly forward or back).

Newage really dropped the ball on Grimlock (no knee bend and no bicep) but they've done really well with the other dinos so far. Good tail swivel, Swoop can look side to side and that extra joint in the wings does wonders for his dynamism, and Sludge's neck articulation is freaking brilliant. It's true that the tail pivot does lead to gappiness so it'd be nice to see some better engineering there, but I'd rather have a moving tail than a perfectly clean but rigid one.

I'm ashamed to say it took me a minute to remember the honorable Thag, but at least I did remember without having to Google it. I can't believe no 3P has used that name for Snarl yet. Maybe NA will, I don't believe MS is that creative with their names.

Imagine the meme if it had been Snarl attacking Unicron instead of Sludge in the movie. I wonder if anyone with sufficient skill would be interested in making that edit.

They said earlier that Chinese retailers are reporting he'll be similarly priced as NA Grimlock. So expensive.

Ah, there's the second stop on the way to release.

Expensive? We have different ideas of expensive.

Considering Onslaught and Jetfire, who I believe Grimlock slots right between in terms of size and complexity, I'd anticipate Grimlock in the 55-65$ range. MAYBE higher, but I honestly doubt it.

    Ebay:
He was $80 at Bombusbee before shipping, ShowZ probably $85-90. TFSource and BBB have him at $110 before shipping.
Relatively speaking even on Taobao he wasn't cheap for Taobao standards.
But true, we can both have different ideas of expensive. For me however this is a high price for a Legends figure, but that's not to say that I won't gobble it up like a plastic degenerate.

I'd be surprised to see MS sell this one for more than 75$. Even Prime with all the extra stuff is only 80 on thier site.
