It is time they got back to Autobots, but having a long period of Decepticons made a lot of sense. Before that wave their releases were all Autobots other than Cyclonus.

One thing to remember about choosing MFT Blaster is that Magic Square "has to" (they don't really, but I expect you know what I mean) redo Ramhorn and Steeljaw to be more in line with what they did with the Decepticon cassettes. There is a very high probability one will be with a Blaster 2.0.

While the MFT Blaster isn't for me, I always felt it was okay for Blaster to be a little bigger than Soundwave. Any of them at the same base scale will be closer in size than the G1 toys were.

Yeah, apologies for the confusion I created: I always envisioned Blaster - most likely from my memories of the vintage toy - to be bigger than Soundwave, Optimus and the majority of the Autobots. That's why I went for the MFT OS for my G1 display.
    Same with Magnus.

i think for me it works out so well because i had blaster as a kid. so i just kind of expect him to be larger than all my other bots. *those that know...know*

but the MFT bot works much better than the MS mold for sure and for 20 bucks or whatever why not.

hopefully MS does a bumped up 2.0 version with his minions as well to match s-dubs.

I agree with you. Magic Square is already working on new Ultra Magnus and they will probably work on new ver Cyclonus and Blaster.

I wish NA wil work new Megatron ver which will be more cartoon accurate like MS Megatron size like NA Galavatron because it will suit my collection.

He's shown to be a big boy in the show. He's taller than the Seekers at times.

For a thread about Perceptor there's a lot of talk about Blaster here.

For toon accuracy? Maybe. I think the smaller head does give the character a more "buff" feel.

Magic Square must be spending all them stimmy' checks on new prototypes for 2021.

And by stimmy checks, I mean Prime repaint dollars.

Ugh, one of the things that I like about MST is they have never followed that car bots are waist high to Prime scale. And I hope they never do. The actual animation is all over the place, yes, but I think MST is working more off this premise.

From the first scene with Prime and his troops in MTMTE. Car bots are around bottom of chest, give or take. That’s where the ones they’ve released so far seem to fall. I do hope they circle back on Blaster with a 2.0 sometime tho. He looks way off next to their Soundwave.

Anyway, excited about Perceptor. One of the characters I always liked and I had the toy so extra cool to have a toon inspired figure after all these years.

Haha, I’m the exact opposite, I always want Blaster taller than Optimus. I think it’s just the toy influence burned into the brain of my child self.

This is why companies can’t win when it comes to scale, the franchise is so inconsistent that everyone has different preferences and they’re all right, haha. Luckily there are so many competing figures these days that we can do a decent job assembling a scale lineup that suits our preferences.

Tbh I think the scale of their cars and earlier bots to Prime was more haphazard than deliberate. They probably made their cars that height because it was what IF was doing. But I could be wrong!

Yeah, I apologize ahead of time for the flex, but here’s me with Perceptor (Paul Eiding), at TF Expo 2018.

I got to hang out with him and Grimlock (Gregg Berger) quite a bit, including sitting right next to both of them for the screening of Transformers the Movie. It was fucking surreal talking to them about how watching the autobots die in front of me was traumatic as a kid.

It's been awhile since I watched the old episodes, but agreed, carbots reaching Prime's chest is my preference too.
I had my IF and NA figures out on my shelves/desk lately. I pulled my Magic Square figures out last night and besides Soundwave the rest of the bots and cons seem to scale nicely.

Perceptor pairs nicely with so many of the characters Magic Square has released. Until they show more pics I expect a standard Magic Square release with the normal pros and cons.
