Store them in Primes trailer or where ever you put Primes trailer. The struggle is the same there but the BFGs are easily adapted to be turrets for display if you don't have a Prime trailer. I know these are simple solutions and may not work with your display but thats how I usually do mine. It works pretty well for me since most of my displays are types of battle scenes.

I already have a great Magnus thanks to MFT as well as Papa. Don't need yet another one.

Ah, so in the full video it becomes clear that he takes the core "Optimus" robot's head and hands off.

The Ultra Magnus head goes on the Optimus neck-peg, so taking the head off is obviously required. It's not as clear if you HAVE to take the hands off, but it looks like the Ultra Magnus hands/forearms have a peg on the back side of the wrist (so, inside the actual forearm) that pegs into the Optimus wrist when you slide the forearm on, so taking the hand off might also be required. That's disappointing.

Since the OP head has to be detached, can MST give us a bigger OP head? As a pre-order bonus? :p  That will increase the sales by ten-fold. The OP head is just too small.

One of guys wondered since MS-01 is scaled up, does it mean MST can design the Ultra Magnus armour for it?

Strangely, that is acceptable to me if the bot mode is articulated.

I'm ok with the Prime head and hands coming off as long as there's some place to put them (looks like there isn't).

I DO wish the thigh armor was red instead of white. For some reason modern interpretations of UM cut too far back on his red bits, IMO.

Several of the steps are very very clever.

I REALLY don't like how half of his trailer doesn't really become anything. Just gun detritus. There's a LOT to like here, but this is the factor that will make me get the NewAge version over this one. Which is a bummer, because I really love the idea of retrofitting UM armor to an existing and complete Prime figure; like in the 80s. Rather than the NA approach of building a white Prime figure specifically for the armor (ala Siege)

Might be more difficult to get MS-01's head and hands off, though.

Given that they paid so much attention to the inside of the lower leg getting its own separate piece to make it the right color, it is especially puzzling (and frustrating!) that the back of the lower leg has no armor. Especially since two of the leftover gun-pieces have those big blue flaps hanging off of them! Which don't even become anything in gun-mode, just the stylized fins! Seems to me that they could have made them detach and cover up the backs of the legs.

It's funny, I was hardcore pro non parts forming Ultra Magnus until we got Siege Ultra Magnus. And then I discovered that it's really fun to armor him up and down as part of the transformation. Look, I've got two versions of Magic Square's self-contained Ultra magnus. I love it. It's one of the best transforming toys I've ever handled. But I think it's kind of cool that we're getting two different takes on the parts forming version as well. I just wish I liked the Magic Square one better.

I usually dont mind partsforming but pulling the head off the peg is a bit much for me. Can we get a G1 helmet somebody?

I'm down for an additional bigger head on the white Magnus robot cab. Sometime I get bored, so I like to display the white robot head exposed out with the rest of armor body on just to show he's an armor bot. So far, he looks great. If every piece goes where it should be fine and dandy, and not loose and falling apart, I have no problem obtaining the upscale version.
Although I'm not a fan of the red thigh, I can see MS is reserving that for the toy version along with the white waist.
Completely agreed with you on the back leg panel.
Thanks! So far he looks great! Now, show me the Matrix cavity chest capability on the armor bot, lol.

Seriously, considering all of the bits of the trailer left over unused. They couldn't have worked a helmet into one of those giant rifles?

I'm piping up just to give some positive reinforcement to those in the thread that actually think the combined robot looks good. I've collected exclusively Newage and iron Factory so far and I think the combined robot mode is absolutely aces. In my mind magnus is a beefcake. I think the new head sculpt is better than the MP

Few too many left over pieces for my tastes.

Didn't watch the full video until now, due to my general dislike for the whole concept of UM as an 'armor' to a white Prime, and yeah, I still don't feel it.

MST or NA, doesn't really make a difference to me. They both end up looking similar to the Takara MP bot, which is way too buff and bloated, compared to how I remember Magnus actually looking like in the cartoon.
Also - size-wise - he just seems to top the height of the MFT oversized figure, in the end, which remains the best Legends G1 Ultra Magnus, in my opinion.

This is a cool Magnus. Too bad they couldn't do some clam shell design or have it open like Iron Man's armor to avoid so much partsforming.

Wonder if we can expect MST to stick to the May release date.

That would severely restrict the articulation.

There could be some hinge on hinge engineering. I mean... its MAGIC Square.

Maybe on a bigger size, it could work, but this is legends, where something like that would result in very thin plastic.
