Ultra Magnus V2 due this month according to Terry Wong after he contacted MS. Also metallic Perceptor confirmed.

 

Any word on whether or not they'll reissue the white Optimus Prime mold? Ultra Magnus v2 is kinda useless without a Prime body to wear the armor.

Kinda curious how well this guy will sell given that they just announced Optimus Prime v2 - and you know there'll be a dozen re-colors, including the white-Ultra Magnus-inner-robot re-color.

 

No idea. I was starting to think the armor was for a white V2 Prime but I guess not.

Edit: it doesn’t sound like there’ll be a reissue, at least not this month before the armor.

 

I like the bulkier design. Reminds me a lot of the MP’s look

I won’t use the cannons for display, but it’s a neat feature.

Leftover Ultra Magnus parts making a cannon just feels right. Reminds me of when the third party scene really got going with Fansproject’s City Commander armor (Had one of the first preorders, but did not realize how important that moment in the fandom would be and what it would be the beginning of).

 

That's a risky movement from MST. I sold my MFT Magnus 2.0 (an awesome recreation, almost perfect) for the MST armor, but after the announcement of Prime 2.0, I'm starting to want cancel my order, it's pretty hard to find a white Prime 1.0 at a reasonable price.

 

Terry didn’t say anything about a reissue. It just seems pretty unlikely to me that there’ll be one before the armor is dropped this month but who knows.

He also said their deformed evil Arcee will be this month, so that’s already at least two products this month.

 

Worst comes to worst, I'll use my v1 OP for Magnus once I upgrade to MST v2 OP or NA OP. Everything should work fine, except the elbows and the thighs, but I guess I could always paint them.

 

Just a heads up...did a quick search on the googler and there are multiple outlets still selling the white MS prime, and all in the $30-$40 range (granted I don’t know what country you’d be shipping to). I ordered one a few months back from a reputable seller on Ebay and got it in just fine.

 

Yeah, I just took a quick look around and white Prime seems to be still obtainable.
I don't personally know the stores that have it in stock atm - when I buy 3P on eBay, it's usually from baba or wuhanlipu - but I guess it's worth a shot.

 

It's about time they announced the news.

I am still hoping they'll do a gift set. As much as I love armor UM, it pains me to track down old figure.

In regard to Prime v2 mold, I hope MS doesn't pull another stunt when they release a white UM v2 cab follow by another trailer armor later on.

The question is... The new armor will fit with the new Prime? Because I can wait for a White Prime 2.0 instead of buying the 1.0.

 

I am hoping the finish product has the glass chest like the box art rendering.

Thankfully I was able to order a white prime off of Aliexpress. Stoked!

 

I'm getting this to use with my Ghostbusters deco Light of Justice. I know I know, that's weird.

 

I'm wondering, since MS is releasing a Optimus Prime 2.0, if they might release a white version/Ultra Magnus 2.0 as well. If so, will this set also work with that release or will it require a 2.0 trailer upgrade kit as well?

 

It likely won't- they've shown a video of the armor being donned (or rather un-donned) from the figure months ago, and the pieces were pretty well fitted to v1.0. But yeah, looking at a side by side pic:



The forearms and lower legs are much chunkier, so its doubtful those pieces will fit over them. But I just noticed the main thing likely nixing it- remember, v1.0 Optimus Prime has that tiny head that's basically inserts into that tiny peg at the top of the body. That makes it easy to switch to the Magnus head (or that extra Starscream one for the "Starscream disguised as Optimus look"). v2.0 Optimus actually has a neck joint:

So I was only 98% sure before that the legs and arms were shaped wrong for the armor to fit, but the head/neck seals it. Like unless that neck peg for some reason attached to another, smaller peg at the top of Optimus' body, its impossible to switch it out for the Magnus head.
