It’s nylon, which is a tough plastic. That’s why it can be used to make thinner parts. I don’t really like the feel of it, but that’s purely a subjective thing. Objectively, it’s a good choice for transformable toys. Personally, I think it feels and looks better on smaller-scale figures in which the hollowness isn’t so apparent.

And I will say that I don't feel like he's any less "weighty" for the lack of die-cast. I mean obviously he is just mathematically speaking but he feels hefty enough in my opinion

This figure isn't nylon. It's ABS

It has nylon parts. Take off the thigh covers ( they pop off ) and the hip joints behind it will show you the difference in the material, they are nylon

It uses both plastics but most people wouldn’t know the difference by looking at them.

There's only a few nylon pieces on the figure. It's mainly the structural pieces not ABS

Better than the standard cross-eyed one, IMO, but both are a little off.

I guess my point is that most people don’t know the difference, but they can perceive that there is one. In my opinion “feel” comes down to how much material is used, and people generally equate heft to quality.

Please don’t bring up Robotech! The Macross people will hunt us down!

Apparently, you cannot marry 3 different anime and combine them into one intergalactic war story. However, it is acceptable to marry 2 different toy lines and combine them into one multi-planetary war story.

    The 80s were confusing.

The outward ratchet in the left leg on my copy feels like it's not working. I tried to open the leg, but it's difficult to do because there seems to be only one screw in the back of the leg to remove and no clear way to open the upper leg.

Never mind, I figured it out. The thigh piece is a cover that slides off to reveal the other leg screws. Looking at the ratchet, I don't really see anything wrong... Might have to ask for a replacement part from Show Z.

Is there a way to get all the leg parts lined up in truck mode so nothing drags along the ground? I could swear I did it before but now I can’t seem to do it so I get any clearance. I think it’s the heel piece that folds under the truck that is the problem but I’m not positive.
