I don't mean to yuk your yum but imho black panel lines look awful. Panel lining should, again imho, be done with a darker shade of the panel's color. So a light to medium grey on white parts and a dark red on red parts, etc. The only place I'd use black would be on dark grey parts.

 

I would agree if they where going for a realistic look, but I’m Pretty sure they are going for that drawn in cartoon look. Where all the details are done with black line work

Looking at these pics... man. This is the first MP Prime that really looks like it's ALIVE when you pose it. Like... it looks real. MP44 has too many weird-looking things going on to fully suspend disbelief... this looks like it stepped out my screeen.

 

Has anybody heard when Magic Square is going to do a restock on him? I missed the initial batch they had.

Inspired by @ldl0021. Did some panel lining of my own with a sharp point Gundam marker. Going for full toon look. Right now I'm getting all the concave edges, then I'll take a deep breath and go after the convex edges. A bit of messiness here and there is perfectly fine since I want him to look like he jumped straight out of a drawn episode of G1, but there will need to be a little bit of cleanup, especially around his yellow belt buttons (or whatever). So far, the black panel lining really makes him pop. Excited to finish him. WIP pic below



I also want to print and cut out some paper squares to clamp into his chest and give him G1 shaded windows. I've taken some screenshots from episodes and stretched/cropped the windows into the right shape square for this guy's chest(pics below). So I just gotta trace them in a drawing app and color the new lineart so it's hi-res enough to use

TCP seems to be really slow as of late....I'm waiting for them to get MS-02 Prime and Im still waiting on X-trans Artfire!!

 

Plenty of overseas retailers have had em for a while. You’ll usually get figures faster from them than North American retailers.

I don't buy from many, if any, stateside companies, but from what I read from the tfw2k5 forums is anywhere from 1-6 months.

Yeah can be. I’ve bought 3p figures and had them arrive weeks or months before the usual American retailers got stock.

 

Just to throw in my two cents on this figure:

Mine arrived with no problems. Smokestacks intact. Foot joints weren’t crazy right, but weren’t loose either. Transforms like a champ, and looks phenomenal in both modes. Crazy posable. Plastic seems strong, and not in danger of breaking.

Yes, he’s light. No diecast. Yes, he’s unpainted. If those things are dealbreakers for you, then you won’t love this guy. I agree with those who think this could have been even more amazing if he was fully painted.

But even as is, this is going to be really hard to top. Best Optimus ever, for my money.
