    Thank you,
Personally I prefer the X, but not sure how both compare in hands and the X quality because I heard the plastic was different, wasn't it? And I didn't have good time with MS painting on their new plastic. My both MS-B14&15 are poorly painted and get scratches easily.

Really depends on what the rest of your collection is like! I've got the standard one in my "main" Legends collection, because it looks like it just stepped off the screen: honestly IMO it's the best looking, most screen-accurate Megatron toy out there - yes, better than MP-36. I love it. Personally, if I could only keep one of the two, it would be this one.

But there's no denying that the metallic one looks gorgeous as well! I have a particular fondness for the red inner legs, even if they aren't toon-accurate. One thing worth noting though is that the metallic version is a bit harder to transform - because of the extra paint, some of the tabs are a lot harder to peg in, particularly in the legs. It's doable, and is easier after a couple of tries, but it's worth mentioning.

tl;dr: they're both good, go for whichever fits better in your collection!

I find I've become less and less concerned with cartoon or even comic accuracy over the years, it's all about how good it looks... and sometimes these toys look better when they are 'less accurate'.

Excellent Photograph!!! What a beautiful glistening sheen on the X-version!!

I never understood why Takara went for the unexiting dull, flat, grey for MP-36.

Your photo captures everything that is AMAZING about MS-B36X, and in my opinion.. why it is superior to any Megatron offering that is available at the masterpiece scale!

    Well Done!!

However, for us non-legends collectors, it is a crime against fandom that MS-Doomsday is not available in a 9.5 inch size!

Hopefully, if someone keeps banging on the need for a masterpiece scaled Doomsday, they will get the message and take action.

I guess people forget that they're not just toys.

I dont think anyone commenting about that but if your goal is to play and transform him you have to consider than the x version may cause some tolerance issue and paint shipping. I ave the x version for soundwave and the paint makes the transformation less smooth. Since I was afraid of chipping I transformer it only once

I too am looking into getting Magic Square Megatron but I'm a little torn.

I don't think I'll transform him very often so he'll just be sitting in robot mode which begs the question, why pay 50-60 bucks for a cartoon accurate Megatron when I could just buy the R.E.D. Megatron for 20 bucks off Hasbro Pulse.

Obviously the two figures are trying to do completely different things so it's hard to compare them directly but would I be wasting my money if I don't even interact with a core part of the Magic Square figure if I don't transform it?

Well....that's just my opinion but even if you don't transform it the magic square x version has better sculpt, better paint better accessories. I have doubt in articulation.

At the end of the day, you look at both products pictures, see what you prefer in bot mode

1 - Options, you may actually want to transform it at some point
2 - Resale, non-transforming transformers have a limited customer base, out of production (popular) Magic Square legends can appreciate significantly, MS-B09 Trailbreaker is a prime example and has literally doubled in value if you could even find one for sale.

It's funny that I find MS still looks better than RED despite RED having no excuse to not be the best looking cartoon Megatron as it cannot transform

I’d say if you’re seriously asking this question then just get the Red.

    VECTOR SIGMA.png
Just in time for the release of Magic Square's Motormaster, Vector Sigma and display base are coming to help bring your Stunticons to life.

Designed to match G1 animation, to scale with Magic Square figures, and for interaction with MST Doomsday/Megatron's Key to Vector Sigma.

Stay tuned for prototype pics and the product listing.

Did you design this for Magic Square? The MST Weibo banner at the bottom is confusing me.

No. This is one of my items. The MST banner is just because I used their product image of Megatron, and didn't want to spend the extra 10 minutes to remove it.

Yeah, there's clear acrylic you can print with. That's how I'm doing the head domes on the Sentinel Guards and blast effects.

The clear piece in the render is a stand in for an arm segment from these stands, that a lot of Legends collectors use:
    61jaM4d0Q1L._AC_SL1500_.jpg

The base is designed to use one of those arm segments if you already have one of those stands, or I'll have a printed piece available to use if you don't have one of those stands. The printed piece might also be hollow if I can pull it off, so that you can run wires through it if you want to put an LED inside of Vector Sigma.
