I don't see it. But it's all gud, if it's a scaled down version of mp36 to you, then that's all that matters !!

To me, it's perfection in the flesh !!
And on that note, MS didn't lie when they showed that silhouette of all the Decepticons they were planning to do.
They don't talk shit that's for sure !!

It looks like they took mixture of the best of the Megatron designs and then scaled them down. If it was a scaled down MP36 there would be a lot of gaps back there.

He does have one noticeable flaw vs the NewAge version...

Where are the curved shins that every other non-DX9 Megatron? It’s such an iconic visual that G1 Megatron has, but this figure lacks. Phenomenal otherwise.

I posted this over in the MST Season 1 Decepticon thread, but it does appear that there's a slight concave curve to the front of his shins.

It's embarrassing how much cleaner MS's figures are than Takara's "masterpieces," at a fraction of the scale. Never understood how that level of kibble on MP36 was acceptable; he looks like he's wearing a half-assembled IKEA table back there.

Takara seem obsessed with Kibble lately look at the latest Prime backpack. All their previous Mp Primes had very little backpacks.

Um no. Not even close. Aside from the fact that using the chamber as his chest is a pretty huge difference, the legs are completely different too - there's no weird transformation joint in his upper thighs. The way the arm panels are lined up is completely different. It's just an altogether different transformation.

People keep saying things like this, like when people were saying that Takara ripped off Badcube's transformation for Sunstreaker but the only elements that are similar are the "freaking duh" elements. The gun grip splits into pieces to form the lower legs and the hip plates? Duh, how else were they going to do that? Wrap around to his butt? Duh, you want his butt to be that same material so it matches the front and you've got no shortage of panels from the grip. Maybe they were inspired by mp36 in some of their decisions but it's nowhere near "literally a downscaled version."

They also weren’t trying to hamfist a voicebox into the design.

Voice box was low on my list of wants for a prime figure, but kudos for those that wanted one.

just to be sure... is this a new original new mold or a copy/modification of a previous one?

Original mold. Magic Square, like Iron Factory and New Age, only do original molds. No KOs.

Thanks, I thought New Age also made some KO molds in the past. Better to be sure about this release. Thanks again!

My best guess is you mixed up the OS KO of the New Age Bumblebee that someone else made. So far NewAge has released their Bumblebee, Jazz, Cosmos, Insecticons, and Datsuns, plus repaints/redecos of those molds.

Both NA and MS look great. While the MS probably has the edge in overall proportions, I really like the extra detailing in the NA mold. I like those little details that make the figures feel more like “real” objects and less like cartoons come to life. But truth is that if I’d bought into MS before I’d probably go with them, but not seeing enough differences here to make me regret having gone with NA.
