    Legs together:
    -tallest 10 1/8th or 25.7cm
    -shortest 9 7/8ths or 25cm

Pretty much a 1/4 inch difference

Could you do it but be more precise? Like 4 decimal places minimum.

I'd honestly quietly thought that all the comments about the transformation were because you legends types (I'm not typically a legends collector) weren't tough enough for the vigours of a masterpiece-style transformation. But no, you're completely right - it was a horrible experience. Getting Devastator together in particular was hideous. It's a shame, too, as both the combined mode and especially the individual bots are absolutely magnificent. But my hopes of having him as the ultimate deskbot have been somewhat scuppered by the fact I have zero urge to fiddle with him ever again.

Longhaul was the only hard part. The rest of the process wasn’t that bad tbh

    It gets easier :)
Looks like you might have Scrapper’s buttflap flipped the wrong way. If it’s positioned correctly, his feet tab into it, making him even more stable.

Also, the shoulder plate on Hook folds down and plugs into the back of Devastator’s chest plate, securing things in place better.

I only transformed and then combined these guys once but I don't remember any of it being overly difficult. I remember it taking a really long time and I remember Long Haul being ridiculously complicated but I don't remember it ever being painful.

I'm impressed. Did you combine them following MS's instructions, or did you figure it out yourself? I don't usually need instructions, but I think at one point I was even forced to try a video, which I've never had to do for transformation. At one point the instructions say to shift Mixmasters cab to right of the back/drum... as if there's some sliding mechanism in the combined-mode ankle area... is this even possible?

I opened my 3 sets up last weekend and it took forever to get them combined. There were multiple times when I wanted to just throw them in a drawer. I kept reminding myself that I had just paid $300 for them and I shouldn't throw or smash them. The final product looks great, but I don't know if I would have bought them again if I had known all the trouble I was going to have. I just now got all the tabs connected on Scrapper. Mixmaster's transformation was my least favorite. Longhaul also sucked. I like the look of the Magic Square much better, but the Newage sure was a lot more fun.

I always follow videos. I don't remember which one I followed but it was pretty good. I remember getting Hook and Long Haul together took some doing. I just didn't find it frustrating like some transformations I've dealt with.

I'm still waiting on my 2nd and 3rd sets, so I've had a lot of time to play with Scrapper and Mixmaster. It was confusing at first, but once I understood the transformations and their inherent logic, it went from confusing to enjoyable. Maybe if you give it more time (and not feel pressured to take in everything at once), you might have a better time with it?

I feel bad for people struggling with this one, it has a few weird moments, but nothing that is in any way difficult, lightyears away from fanstoys levels of BS for sure. But then again, people whined about TF2 leader prime, and that things a cakewalk, so should not be surprised.

Overall, I love converting this thing back and forth, very intuitive, everything fits good, nothing needs too much flexing, etc. Overall I love this set.

Classic Dino rivalry. Love the playability with the individual bots. MS is def winning the combiner wars, looking forward to their next! PXL_20220128_232603949_2.jpg

     F U magic square, F U! :p  i finally got your damn combiner together!!! :D

wow, what an ordeal. but the reward… also WOW. overall, aside from a few areas, this thing is quite SOLID once you can figure out how to get it connected and locked all together PROPERLY and you can manage to do it without throwing the whole thing across the room and smashing it against a wall. again MS reliance of their high nylon really shows with this. because there's no real fear of breaking anything, they are sloppy with their tolerances which results in having to force many pegs and tabs together with so much pressure, it leaves your finger tips and thumb sore.

the first two pairs were a breeze compared to the last in both transformation and combining. Long Haul is the worst of the entire set. all those panels that need to be folded/unfolded in specific manner, position and order, the weak connection of the arms that don't quite stay in place connecting to the rest of the truck bed underside in alt, and the overall NIGHTMARE of time trying to stack Hook unto the two pegs on Long Haul to form the torso. knowing what i know now, i would have definitely not mounted Long Haul to the lower pants and left the arms off until later. instead i would have focused on getting Hook onto Long Haul and specifically worked in those two pegs first. in the future if i dissemble and need to combine them back together, that is the order i would go. torso first, next the arms followed by the chest wing. connect the torso to the pants and legs, and then final tabs and clean up of the truck bed to the torso.

also to echo a few comments about the loose left knee, i'm finding i'm having a similar issue and tightening those bolts does nothing. some added ratchets there would have been nice. hopefully the knees don't wear down the plastic too smooth due to friction and they become floppy. but i'll have to find some time to do some knee surgery to see if i can figure out what's going on and if there's a permanent fix.

lastly i think i've figured out where to store all the respective blasters in combined and alt mode. the only one that doesn't seem to have proper storage in combined mode is Long Haul, as the part it can peg into for the alt is concealed in the truck bed. you can if you want store his blaster loosely inside the cavity of the truck bed, but Scrapper has an extra port so you can throw it down there. however Long Haul's blaster looks better on Hook's crane port, as it is shorter and lower profile. so instead i use Hook's crane port for Long Hauls and move Hook's bigger/longer blaster down to Scrapper.

combining frustrations aside, i applaud MS for this awesome combiner. the level of engineering and transformation is truly MP level. only downside of that is given the scale, it can be frustrating trying to align and connect everything in such detail in such a small confined space, and the poor tolerance and flex in the plastic just plagues the process even more.

Alternatively I've found that the cavity between Hook and LH, behind the chest shield, is a good place to store all of the weapons.

Also noticed you too leave both flaps down on Hook behind the chest shield. Cleans up more nicely, doesn't it?

well the one in the centre is supposed to be down, as it actually tabs and locks into place to hold Hook's crane platform in place from shifting left/right. originally i missed that and left it folded up when i first combined everything. only inspecting and reviewing what i had done against online photos/videos did i take note of what i had done wrong. there was a lot of that with respect to Long Haul. but yeah the second outer one is more cosmetic decision as it cover more of the empty space of the torso on that shoulder side. it's supposed to be kept up to reinforce the cabin locked into place over the arm connector pegged into it, but i'm not finding that necessary.

great advice on throwing all the blasters in the torso mid section. i might try that sometime, though i think i prefer pegging the respective blasters to their bots so i don't have to do the mental work of figuring out who gets what. :lol

Cheers for the tips. He was perfectly secure as was, but this certainly tidies him up that bit more.
