I guess that depends on your primary focus. For me, Galdelico and at least some others it is clearly the actual physical appearance of the figure whereas you clearly are focusing on the color shade first and foremost. That does make your comparison make a lot more sense now that we know that.

 

The colors and the alt modes. Neither look like G1 to me. Or, put another way, the Newage colors and alt modes look a lot closer to G1.

 

MS' choice to go with that shade of plum instead of the bluish-purple is definitely reminiscent of Gravity Builder, but that's pretty much where it ends for me. Gravity Builder is more of a "G1-inspired" interpretation which is to be applauded for its engineering and ideas. But for the MS constructicons -- their individual bot modes, alt modes and combined mode are actually very close to G1 for the most part.

It really depends on what you're looking at when you talk about G1 devastator colors.. NA devy is a pretty close match to season 1 & 2. But if you look at Devastator in Transformers the Movie and throughout the Headmasters series, it's no longer that bright green, it's the same color as Magic Square devy. So technically they're both G1 color accurate just depends if your talking 1984/85 vs 1986/87..

I just adjust the tint on my TV to match MS.

 

Can modern TVs still adjust tint? I'm lazy and just go with defaults so I have no idea.

@NOCV you tired of being hit up for these things yet?   (and just so it's clear, I'm not interested in having my Devy without his wings so this isn't me saying I'd buy one if you made it)

 

While I can't have the dumpbed lid flipped up, the art shown head on is quite gappy.

Hercules did it much better. The bucket actually covered the knuckles. I wish I could also somehow flip Bonecrusher around like the art.

I can, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Basically I have the Dev legs extended all the way minus any covers. Then I popped the dumpbed/LH legs off of the balljoints. Then tucked the LH feet inside of the Dev waist flaps and folded the LH leg balljoints around the back of the Dev knees. It's not super secure, but they hold well enough.

 

I WAY LOVED the AHM Devastator design! I always appreciate the practical Comic designs more. Bravo on the AWESOME custom, @G.I.EDDIE
