Car Robots and MMC did it. Although Car Robots didn't just have G1 style combiners.

Ocular Max doesn’t exactly count within the history of Takara and Hasbro’s transformers designs.

You can see how much the Car Robots combiner designs suffered.

It at least does show that it is possible, but I do agree that I'd take a combining team with partsforming parts like the new pants-formers if it means added height/stability and less sacrifices for the individual bots.

Tbf the G1 devastator used alot of spare parts and that design screams "kill me", not to mention the individual bots that suffered on most others.

I’m hoping hasbro has taken notice of this trend (consumers more accepting of add on parts) and will follow suit with their rumored upcoming combiner(s)

Ah I meant that they didn't have just G1 style combiners.

Still really hoping against hope MMC does Ruination over the G2 repaint, it would look much better and they're actual characters.

I think he's talking about the Menasor for the main line that leakers say is coming for 2022. MP it's so far possibly Raiden but we've heard nothing else from it yet by official sources or leakers.

that’ll be sick if it were true. i’m mainly a MP collector now due to space constraints, and i’m wondering if i’ll ever get triple changers and combiners within my lifetime lol

Especially considering official MP is more obsessed with redoing the same characters again and again, would it have killed them to put the MP-44 level of engineering into a Blitzwing, ideally in the older style of MP.

$270 if you got the first run leg bots, $280 with the current preorder price (some assumptions detailed below). All prices from www.thechosenprime.com so overseas is probably cheaper. Motormaster is $150, Wildrider and Breakdown (2-pack) was $55 for the first run (new preorders are showing $65). The preorders for Dead End and Dragstrip are old ones priced at $36 each, but Wildrider and Breakdown were originally listed for that too before the price dropped so we are assuming the arm bots price will drop too.

I would expect the price on Devastator to work out to somewhere from $35 - $40 per figure.

Purple treads for Bonecrusher, or green treads for Scrapper, will drastically alter their robot modes. If you want them to "look right" in robot mode, then you're going to have asymmetrical shoulders in combined mode.

And black is wrong for all characters in all modes, so...

I've always wanted it done where the inner part, with the wheels, is green or purple, and the outer track chain is black.

They way Generation toy did it, I also loved how ToyWorld managed to include real threads, but that would be impossible at this scale, and impractical.
