See, I didn't mind the original blue (MS is always engineering for me, Sunbow only matters in the sense that it motivates them so much), but I'd be lying if I didn't say that that looks way better.

Problem is, if I get this, then the Bruti-trousers are also blue (I have the 'IDW' deco), and they came with Blast Off. Vortex too for the front of the body (and it is reasonable to suspect that he will be a nice dark grey now), and I'm 60% into this alt deco. Can't go down that rabit hole.

Food for thought: If MS just took their existing Legends Bruticus and photoshopped it bigger for this photo, why use the old grey prototype mould and not a finished copy with colour? They could have also muted the colours if they worry that the new Onslaught blue won't stand out.

What about the difference in fingers?
Pin size and placement should be a giveaway.

And can someone compare existing combiner hands to MS Onslaught to get an idea of the size?

    Oooooh boy, I'm getting excited!

guess we won’t see the combined mode theme until they’re all out before we can decide whether to bite again or not, smfh. i can see this deco release for both toon and idw, but with enough subtle color tweaks between the two sets to still piss people off from both camps. looking more closely at set c, brawl has the toon colored feet, so yea looks like this set will just be a toon deco with onslaught’s darker blue and slight tweaks to the rest. i can see a set d with the darker blue and toy deco and gray combined feet.

i already double dipped on the first two sets before deciding to sell my idw set - as much as i like this new onslaught’s blue, i don’t know if i have the energy to go through another round or two of comparisons. i alsolutely cannot quadruple dip

Well, the good thing with these being released out of order is that, if Onslaught comes with the same combiner bits as the original release, we should know what the colors for Swindle and Blast-Off will look like very soon.

Ideally they would keep the purple, brown and beige the same (like the gray on Onslaught), as they look fine. But I’m sure they wouldn’t be able to resist releasing them again with slightly tweaked colors..

We already know that Vortex will have the same blue as Onslaught for his thighs and weapons as well, and his main body will definitely be a much darker gray.

So by the end of the month we should have a pretty good idea about all the colors on the combiner.

yea i just updated my post right after you quoted me after thinking more on it. i have a hunch they’re going to have the same toon/idw release pattern with onslaught’s deeper blue given the fact that brawl set c has the toon colored combiner feet.

if they’re going to do this to us and get us to repurchase, at least do a set c with the deeper blue but give us a fucking break and sell the combiner kits as separate sets so we can finally get a configuration we want without having to buy multiples of the same figures.

I'm really hoping this new Onslaught - the one I've been waiting for, as many of us seem to have been - comes with the same parts as the IDW release. Surely he will?

I’m afraid not. If he comes with combiner pieces they will be the cartoon parts.

the chest plate remains to be seen, but so far brawl set c comes with toon feet, not idw feet, so i wouldn’t get my hopes up for this set at least. you may need to hold your breath even longer for your configuration, as i suspected in my earlier post above this

Yeah, I mean - this looks much more like a toy version than the IDW/'toy' version did, to me at least. That's why I want it, that's the blue I was after. And obviously the eyes are toy-accurate too.

That’s what he looks like in the cartoon. They stuck very close to the G1 toy colors.
