There’s a lot going on here that I can’t decide if I’m bummed about. The body shell is a bummer for sure, but I think I can live with it. Vortex can be cleaned up by just leaving the copter tail in copter mode. But Brawl…his color is off *and* he doesn’t change anything for leg mode. He just sits there as a vertical tank. It’s throwing me off. Maybe if they fix the color I’ll be more amenable…I’m sure full color final pics will make me happier. I’m quite pleased with everything else about Bruticus!

 

I’m in on this. Looks good. I like how they went with the slender look like with their Menasor rather than the beefed up look they did with Devastator. He will look good and fit in with my NA Devy, Zeta Superion, MS Menasor and now this. Excited to get this.  

Vortex does look like a mess though. Yeeesh…  

 

I like how Swindle extends for leg mode, so that way his jeep isn't the same size as Brawl's tank. At least it looks that way to me.

All in all I think he's a great looking g1 Bruticus.

 

Looks great, but bummed at the obvious partsforming torso and thighs. I expected the thighs but that they indeed have a torso as well is meh. Still a buy on release though.

I’m more impressed with the individual robots than the combined mode, which IMO looks really bland. The torso and thighs are largely devoid of detail, but I guess that’s what toon accuracy is all about.

Did they seriously pull a Newage with this guy? Is it seriously a bodysuit combiner? I'll wait to see more pictures, but my hype just flatlined if it is.

I agree, but fully expect that a toy-inspired set of torso and thighs will included, just like with Menasor and Devy. So in the end, happily, it shouldn't be an issue.

 

I dunno... Looks a little too AKOM-tastic in Combined mode. I would like to see more before I decide how I feel. I'll probably end up getting these regardless, but I am just not sure how I feel about this. It seemed to me that Onslaught had the ideal transformation scheme to support an honest combination, without the need for extra parts, save for the chestplate. I think it might still be possible that what we are seeing here is simply one version of the combined mode. Again, I need to see more.

That's my hope as well. Seems a shame to put all that detail and engineering into Onslaught, just to cover it all up with a fake shell in combined mode. Really hope there's a toy-style option that uses fewer fake parts and lets more of the details shine through.

Hope they make a non cartoon version with a normalized breastplate. The cannons are also a little different, I’m assuming they just flip.

I definitely feel disappointed in how combined mode looks. The individuals were mostly such wins (disappointed in Swindle in bot and combined mode) but Bruticus just doesn't compare well to them.

@magicube is there supposed to be a second picture? I'm seeing a broken image after the combined mode shot.

 

Welp, this certainly can’t scramble, and I really dislike pantsformers so I’m out. Maybe someday the legends Bruticus of my dreams will appear but this is not it
