Ugh, he's got that red spot on the back of his head. Good to see he does come with the torso though, and do my eyes deceive me, or does he have integrated weapon storage? The barrel of his gun probably just pops off and pegs on the front of the chopper, but it'd be really cool if the whole thing fit up in there.

Looks great! Nice to get confirmation that he'll include the torso piece. Oddly enough, aside from the color, the main thing that actually really bugs me about him are the helicopter blades. I don't like this kind of design:

It bugs me that they're "layered" like that. It's definitely a peeve of mine with helicopter transformers when they do that with the blades/rotor. I wish the blades were on the same piece of the rotor instead of like that but oh well. I'll get over it. The rest of the figure (again aside from the less than amazing gray) looks absolutely stunning and I can't wait to get him in hand.

Awesome, they got the red spot on the back of his head.
My dude is looking mighty fine! I was thinking he’d come with the torso, glad to have it confirmed.

Also looks like they went back to going with the division in his visor after all huh, like the original prototype.

Can’t wait to have him in hand in a few weeks!

I prefer Bombusbee so far because of better prices but MS is legit I used them for figures I couldn't find elsewhere

The G1 toy had Blast Off's roof (his back) towards the body, it always stood out to me since almost every other scramble city limb had it from their chest (often their head). The cartoon model is the same as the toy, but often in the cartoon just had it as a deformed cylindar shape in Blast Off's colors instead of really looking like Blast Off's shape. EDIT: This came up with a previous 3P Bruticus figure, I think MMC. At the time I counted Bruticus toy molds and I believe it was literally 50/50 at the time whether they had Blast Off facing in or facing out.

They may or may not have even known it was one character to be symmetrical. Even with as bad as the image is though I would have thought they would assume the other thigh was the same, but obviously they didn't. If it had really been Onslaught they would have at least done two wheels on the thigh, but the 2nd wheel was hidden behind Bruticus' hand in their source image.

The closest thing to logical I can come up with is the animator was probably on a strict deadline with way too little time for way too much work and just knocked it out to move on to other work that was also on a tight deadline without giving it any actual thought.

I have to assume to layered design is just for the ease of getting the parts onto a sprue to be produced. Two straight lines are far easier to fit on than a large (relative to other parts for the figure) X.

I don't think there is a grey line on the windshield, I think that is just glare from the lights. I could be wrong though.

Anyhow, here's every time the wheel on Bruticus' thigh shows up in the Sunbow cartoon, I went through each episode and grabbed these. The last photo shows it animation error'ed onto the wrong side. I do hope however there is an alternate thigh cover without the wheels since that animation error was so common.

Oh that looks fantastic!! Looks like you can rotate the lower arm in the last pic too, should mean that you can do the same with Blastoff so you can have the wings down the side rather than on top, which might help the proportions a bit.

    Can't wait for this guy!!

It's not there in the first two pictures, so it's definitely just glare.

They probably didn’t have the IDW head on hand for this shoot. We’ve seen the differences in tree prototype and test shot previously.

He was suggesting it as a possible difference between the two versions which would also explain it not being there in the first two pictures. The difference in truck mode for Onslaught is just whether the front bumper is painted or not, so it is a reasonable guess, even if I don't think it is correct this time. It is also theoretically possible that he is wrong about that picture but right about MS actually deciding to make that change on the figures. I see no reason for MS to do it, but I also saw no reason to change the paint on Onslaught's bumper so I can't use that with any confidence.
