Kate McKinnon Will Voice Ms. Frizzle in Netflix's 'Magic School Bus' Revival

As a devoted fan of Kate color me so excited. If there was anyone who could voice someone as wacky and lovable as Mrs. Frizzle, it's Kate McKinnon. She's so talented, so funny, so wacky and lovable. Great casting if you ask me.

 

Heh, if there was ever a perfect person to start this thread and report this news, it's you, Chopper.

 

I'm not going to lie, that's actually pretty decent casting.

 

She'll be a good fit. Has anyone else noticed the connection between the original and this reboot? Both Lily Tomlin and Kate McKinnon identify as Lesbian. (Before anyone complains, I have no problem with that, it will have no affect on the content or the quality, just an odd coincidence I noticed is all. I'm all for it, though.)

 

But will it have a kick-bus theme song? If not I'm staying home that day.  

 

Will the schoolbus still have a face?

The schoolbus and the lizard were my favourite characters.

This pleases me immensely. In an age where they re-imagine the crap out of things so they barely resemble the original stuff, that Netflix is bringing back basically the exact same show with as few changes as possible (new Mrs. Frizzle getting the keys passed down from the old Mrs. Frizzle, the Bus getting a modernized makeover but still has eyes and everything) is amazing.

 

That was amazing!!!! Original Ms. Frizzle was a massive, WOW surprise and I love it. Also Lin-Manuel Miranda singing the theme is wicked cool

 

What the hell did they do to the animation? It makes Duck Tales and Ben 10 look sophisticated.

 

Shame about the animation quality, usually Netflix are good with their orginal cartoons budget. Wonder if it all went to paying Kate McKinnon.

You're weird hate for the animation quality of the Ducktales reboot is weird and out of place, art style =/= animation quality.

 

That looks incredible! Ms Frizzle taught me most of what I know today, I'm happy to see the show come back!

 

Maybe it's just me but the Animation looks fine - compared to say, Rescue Bots where everything is locked into a weird isometric view. Plus, given it's Magic School Bus, the simpler animation style probably helps with the far more complex transformations that the trailer alone showcased like that massive underwater lab.

 

The animation looks good enough for a kids show.

 

I can't help it. These shows look like they were made by 8 year olds these days. I keep hearing Duck Tales is good, but I can't make it past the first episode. Maybe I'll give it another shot when the whole season is out on BD.

 

It'll never be as metal as the original.

 

Aww I used to love that show. It's got kind of a Phineas and Ferb feel to it.
