It's worth watching again. However, by the thread title I was afraid I might have to see that Justin Long tool.
And speaking of which. I just had to restart my mac because Final Cut crashed twice in a row. This mac certainly won't be winning any robotic battles.
more importantly what happens when they finally get past 10.... i dunno whats wrong with you dudes, my macbook works fine as a nut, the only issues i have are with fonts.
Lion-O - "Eye of Thundera, find me reasonably priced hardware for this OS" Sword of Omens - "LOL, WUT?"
Try doing what they say it's supposed to be good at: editing in HD and composing animations with over 15 layers (also in HD) and see if fonts are you only problem. And I would love to say that this mac that I'm on is the only one with issues, but it's stronger brother down the hall gets tipsy too. Also, if I'm editing and I have Itunes on, the music stutters while I edit. My PC has never taken a hit on music playback when I'm doing ANYTHING, even the most complicated compositing or 3d work.
i knew this would turn into a hate parade macs are the bomb. the problem is usually pc people trying to treat them like pcs and yeah, i've edited movies on my mac with no issues....
Last I checked, brotha, I didn't realize Holding APPLE and pressing "S" to save constituted treating it like a PC, yet Final Cut crashed when I save sometimes (Because it's out of memory, and it's the only program open). Or how about crashing in the middle of a render? That's not me even having hands-on. My Opinion is, I love this computer here at work. It's a beefcake, but guess what.... it crashes... it does weird things, it even does worst things than my 2001 sony vaio. But my Vaio ain't a saint either. So all these ads about Macs being the perfect machine just makes them look full of themselves in spite of the fact that their machine are just as subject to bugs, they just have a better way of hiding it. And that's the problem. I have yet to meet one PC person that makes rude remarks about Apples, but everytime I run into a mac guy, he has to make a remark about PCs. So Macs kick ass. And they have a nice little OS, but the people and their attitude is what turns me off to them, especially when I have had more crashes with this machine in the year we'vre had it than 7 years working on an Avid PC. They are both good, and they both suck, and macs ain't invincible.
Here we go... Invincible It's not easy to google a mac with a Transformers Animated background, so yeah, that's my work computer. Are you kidding? Smangs is my boy. I would never fight with him. And I swear on my NUTS, I would gladly buy a Macbook for my home, but you would NEVER catch me at Coffee Shops with my legs crossed so much that they crush my balls.
i never said macs were invincible son... and its usually the other way round from my experience every person i meet who finds out i have a mac usually berates me! i like to stay out of that shit because people use whatever suits them best. for my line of work and what i do on a computer, macs are perfect, and i've never had any -serious- problems. that said, they're still computers and i have no doubt they go wrong as well. dude tell me about it, i see so many people in startbucks/pret with their white laptops...
Yeah I should have probably stated that I didn't mean YOU said that. You don't seem the type to go on about silly computers. My bad, will you ever forgive me? I was 30 seconds from buying a white macbook, and the only reason I bought the VAIO a month ago was so that I could author to bluray and watch my movies on it. I think Final Cut is an awesome editor actually and Motion is really growing on me also.
You mean trying to get them to do more than one very simple task at a time? This. Too many of the Mac users I meet are like walking "Hi, I'm a Mac"--"...and I'm a PC" commercials. The few that aren't, I have no problem with. My only serious beef with Macs is the way Apple encourages that attitude, and borders on blatant misinformation in their advertising. Otherwise, they're like the Starbucks of computers (and not just because they're often seen together)--they make an above average product, but have disproportionately high pricing and pretension. Not really a big deal.
