Anyway... why has Judd Nelson looked so... homeless... these past few years?

 

He grew a Beard. And that he was at Last year's Botcon.

 

Very cautiously optimistic mainly because I remember how toothless the previous effort was.

 

Ugh. Optimus barely being in TLK left me actually really missing Peter. So it's just... nice to see him again.

 

Agreed. While we have no idea how the story or the actors will portray their roles, again we're being being given something with 20 frames a second animation. I'm actually surprised they allowed the animation company to do this given the poor reception the animation had in CW... then again, we're technically getting this for free... so...

 

I have low expectations out of the writing and the animation because I know better from Machinima. And I have to wonder how much of a budget they actually have to work with considering it's a free video to watch. So with that said, while I know I'm going to be let down by the animation, the fact that Judd Nelson is in this with Peter Cullen again is worth watching, even if there was just a blank screen and it was just a radio play. Seeing Judd speak there in this little video made me close my eyes and hear Hot Rod again. Judd Nelson as Hot Rod isn't just nostalgic, it's euphoric!

Got a good cast, that's a step in the right direction, now we still, need writers who care and will take risks, a budget to where the animation can move smoothly, a run time that can allow for a story to be fully told, and sound design that's even passable. But, baby steps.

I disagree. Even with its faults, which every show has, TF Prime was better written and animated than any cartoon we've gotten since then, and a lot of the previous shows too.
Prime's characters were great as well. Best Megatron since the original.
Id even watch it over any of the live action movies.

Thats ridiculous. "Mary Sue" doesnt describe the entire good guy cast at all.
The autobots got beat up plenty on the show, and they all had their reasonable faults except OP of course because he's OP. Hes supposed to be bad ass!
And-
Of course they killed a lot of vehicons. Just like in any corporate run "evergreen" IP they arent gonna have their main characters killed off by stormtroopers. Thats just the way these shows are. To criticize it for that is unrealistic.
It aint Game Of Thrones for cripes sake.

 

You can see from that short little snippet of a clip that they still have the same garbage animation with the same impossibly low frame rate.

Still going to suck.

On the other hand, it HAS to be better than IDW's Titans Return. There's no way it won't be. Even if they try to tank it, they would have to be -- even if only by accident -- better than IDW TR.

 

Judd Nelson's working again?! Sweet! Now he can afford to go to Great Clips and get a haircut and shave that beard!!!  

 

I liked the CW animation. Everything else... not as much. But it was something to watch, at least. I had low expectations going in and enjoyed it for what it was. I never expected Shakespeare (... or even Beast Wars  ) I mean, they were 5 minute Machinima shorts.

Please stop with this anti-argument. No one wants to be pandered to personally. Why does there have to be so specific target groups that happen to exclude the established fans? I think that what most reasonable long time fans want is to share what they love about Transformers with more people without being the subject of ridicule by media that is making the franchise into a laughing stock. How many times does that have to be repeated for you to finally get it? Fans want the franchise to thrive, fans want the franchise to be taken seriously, fans want what they love to be loved by more people. Maybe, if for once, Hasbro and newer fans stopped antagonizing them, it would be for the best. Maybe, let's try that once and see how it goes. And I don't mean by dropping a nostalgic toy here or a mobile game there to shut them up.
