Exactly. It is obvious from the reviews that most people thought Machinima's Combiner Wars was a pile of garbage, but Hasbro saw the views and gave Machinima more money to make more garbage. I want Transformers animation, but I also want a competent animation studio to do it.

It also isn't really sarcasm when you add a part that explains what you meant afterwards. It is just being snarky.

I mean, I know lots of people use it, but it's dumb and basically (well, literally) only serves to highlight people who're trying to be funny/want people to notice their oh-so-clever wit.

Well, this is just great! Voltron, an anime that hasn’t seen relevance since the mid 80’s has been given a critically acclaimed and phenomenal revival now in its Fourth season by Dreamworks on Netflix, meanwhile, Transformers, a much more massive franchise by comparison, is given a low quality, narratively shallow web series. Who is behind thie decision making here!?

Remember Beast Wars, that series made 20 years ago, with way better animation and writing? Yeah, that was a good show.

Not sure what the point of this one is. To sell toys, I guess, but it's about two years late for Metroplex.

 

BW was created by Kenner.

 

A sub-company of Hasbro. Not sure what that has to do with anything. And that was the toyline. Mainframe did the show.

 

Alas, we're not getting a Generations mainline cartoon (at least not anytime soon.) We just aren't. We're getting Cyberverse, or whatever it ends up being called, which will replace RiD. Those will continue to receive the mainline treatment, and with it, the animated series. Generations will get this tangential web series, and IDW.

So in the absence of anything more, I'll happily take it. At least it's something G1 inspired and animated. Would I prefer something much more substantial? Absolutely. But I don't get to control that (if I had my druthers we'd get a stop motion animation series of the quality of what Optimus Timelord does here and on YouTube along with others, but with a full budget and voiced lol,) so I'll take it.

 

I have to concur. As a British person, I don't feel the need to use blue text to convey sarcasm, as it defeats the purpose of using it. What's next; red text to convey irony?

Anyway, if you want to watch this without adding to the view count, here are some possible ways:

- Click on the video link, copy the URL and share it with a "conversion/download" site. Hopefully, this will grant you access to the media without it being registered as being watched.

- Torrent it?

Also, you could downvote it, and if you are subscribed to Machinima, unsubscribe. DON'T post a comment at the video though, as videos need comments, likes and views to remain relevant to YouTube's algorithms, I think. That's why must videos these days ask you to "Like, comment and subscribe".

Also you could just wait for the "Geewun Redone" parody that will come out. It's probably going to be better than the original anyway.

 

Ain't that the million dollar question! And also... Why do we, as a fandom, still accept this and excuse it? And even worse, blindly support it.
