At the time MW was released, I was happy to be able to get these molds at extremely reasonable prices. However, over time I have come to not really like the four larger figures because they are bricks. Granted, they are expected to be bricks, but I don't like bricks any more... so I sold all of them. I still like the smaller flipchanger figures.

I dig Machine Wars Optimus Prime, it's a killer mold. I wouldn't mind having that one repainted in proper G1 colors.

I bought a Machine Wars Starscream earlier this year. He's easily one of the most awesome bricks I've ever owned. He's such a massive, chunky toy, its great! Playing with him made me wanna get Skyquake, if not for the cost and the GPS. :(

Machine Wars is great, a wholly achievable "complete" collection. Was it 8 or 12 figures in total? I recently complete my set with a MISB Machine Wars Prime which apparently is from the former collection of the Hartman bros.

Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, and Sandstorm were all repaint(or remolds) of previously European-exclusive toys. MW was the first time they were available in the US.

The 8 flipchangers were repaints... of themselves. They were 4 completely previously unreleased molds. They were originally designed for G2 and have gotten many repaints since, but MW was the debut as new molds.

Google Machine Wars Starscream, someone made a nice artist rendition of Starscream getting his revenge on Galvatron. Hes wearing his purple cape with Galvatrons orange cannon as a trophy.

There's also a pretty cool picture of Starscream's ghost inhabiting the MW body (presumably by the same artist).

Very much so, yes. I noticed a lot of similarities when I built TT Starscream in 3D the other year.

Yeah, the wiki says the "MW Starscream in a cape" picture is a 'sequel' to the other picture. The difference is that the cape one was featured in an official artbook, so it's 'canon' so to speak.

I'm content with my Botcon Skyquake, I just wish it was larger like the original (too bad the original is a GPS victim). I've got MW Starscream too, he's one of the best bricks in my collection. I have both MW and Universe Soundwave (mostly bought the Universe one for Space Case), too.

MW could've been a cool concept... if anyone had bothered to write a story for it. The name was cool, at least.

I consider us MW fans lucky that Soundwave didn't come with Stalker's original gun. The handle on that thing is so fragile it isn't even funny. Or maybe it is a little funny... XD

I am NEVER putting Stalker's gun in his hands. A tiny, gold plastic post? On a gold plastic gun with a spring in it? Nooooooooo.

I love the MW Starscream mold and felt he is not complete w/o a gun so I custom made one for him. It even fires a missile. The gun can attach to his belly in jet mode.
