    Do we need this? Maybe?

Let's show those dozen retaile figures and hand full of exclusives some love.
I'll start off with the two leaders of this line. Megatron headed up the budget class toys while Prime had to wait for your birthday or Christmas.

Well this is not going well...

    OP: "It's over Megatron..."
    Megatron: "Wrong again Prime!"

Always felt like G2 Laser Prime would've been cool as a Machine Wars repaint/retool to match the box art

I don't think I have any MachineWars toys. Always interested but it fell into the gap during my collecting.

If you have any MW repaints of "prepaints" that would be fine.

This thread is a service! I plan on getting into MW. Very underrated and I hope this gives it more spot light.

Check out my photocomics I've got some MW figures there and I'm working on doing more with the new ones I'm getting.

I got into Transformers during G2 and BW was exciting for all the new stuff it brought. Then MW came with it's new and nostalgic flavor. It really was the predecessor to universe.

20200508_221642.jpg This was, more or less, my introduction to Transformers.

I made this for my photo comic. It's not due there for a few weeks but you get it early.

Machine Wars and Robotmasters, the forgotten children of Generation 2.

Since Smitty said prepaints are allowed, here is G1 Thunderclash and a Machine Wars Prowl I customised as Fracture/Crasher.

    20200509_215753.jpg 20200509_215658.jpg 20200509_215538.jpg

I always thought Machine Wars Prime could be repurposed as the G1 version of Animated Optimus.

Machine Wars/Robotmasters Mirage remains my favourite Mirage mold to this day.

Since the Machine Wars line were all retroactively made clones of their G1 counterparts in the Collector's Club magazines, the toys can be considered separate characters to the originals. Same with G2 Sideswipe thanks to IDW. This is great because it further adds to the G1/G2 cast and it means MW and RM Mirage aren't just the same character repainted.

At least you can have a larger version of Megaplex these days by putting a Megatron Titanmaster on a Nitro Zeus body.

I'd love the Sandstorm/Rotorstorm mold retooled as the Energon helicopters from Bruticus Maximus.

My best friend passed away 6 years ago, and I inherited everything. I know he had all of the machine wars toys, but even now I can only find Optimus. Hopefully the others turn up... there was just so much stuff...

But yeah, good thread. I wish Botcon would have done ALL of the MW characters. It’s not like there were that many.

It would be nice to get them in the GS line. I'd even settle for simple repaints, like yellow ER Hoist as MW Hubcap and Siege Mirage as the MW F-1 cars.

How did you get Thunderclash's shoulders to move?

I actually only did it on Friday. I posted how I did it in the Radicons forum.

There are two tabs I removed on either side. One hangs slightly over the shoulder. The other attaches the elbow to the torso.

I unscrewed the shoulders and just pulled the arms off snapping the tab holding them.

Before reattaching them, I cut the overhanging tabs. I still need to file them down to tidy them.

Then I put blue tack in the shoulder socket to stop it flopping when I screwed the arms back on.

It doesn't interfere with the transformation and the chest panel covers where the shoulder's been cut in truck mode.

My Thunderclash was old when I bought him so I was ok trying this procedure. Hope this helps.

While Machine Wars was not kind to Megatron in the size department he can out pose Optimus like nobody's business.

I'll have the first of my 3 F-1 bots tomorrow and with luck the other two by the end of the week. I might end up getting the whole line, but as of now just the small figures and Soundwave should do.

I'm glad there's a thread for this. It's a line that actually has a lot of cool and interesting repaints. Machine Wars Optimus especially is unique with how he evokes the classic Optimus Prime while also putting a new twist on it.

It's why I wish for a new Thunderclash figure to be made so we can get a new Machine Wars Optimus figure.
