Sad to hear. That cover to TF #5 made a huge impression on me, and I’m sure a lot of us. Gone too soon.

Gosh, that's terrible news. I didn't know him, but that cover absolutely went hard. I'm wishing the best to his family and hope they can heal from the grief.

RIP thoughts to his family, gone too soon for with that age. Drew arguably the most iconic Transformers cover ever or at least of the Marvel run.

That's sad news, 68 isn't that old anymore. I know he only did a little bit of work on Transformers compared to the fairly diverse body of work he had, but those three covers, MAN, those three covers...

One of the toughest things about getting older is watching your childhood heroes grow old and pass on. Hopefully he knew what an impact he had on the imaginations of so many young people over the years...so much so that we're still talking about it over 40 years later.

One of the most iconic comic covers of all time. How many of us were so struck by it the first time we saw it? I can still remember the first time I saw it in a comic shop.

    RIP talented man.

THE artwork that started it all for me. Picking up that issue from the news stand when I was a kid cemented Shockwave as my all time favorite character then and now. It was, and will always be one of my all time favorite pieces of Transformers art.
    Thank you, Mr. Bright.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t familiar with his name, but I’ve known and loved that cover since I was a kid. One of my fave cover from that era. RIP

An iconic piece of art that will remain beloved for years to come. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind. Rest in peace, I can only hope his family is doing as well as they can right now.

Sad, such a great artist, and as noted. Pretty young :(

His and Christopher Priest’s Spider-man -vs- Wolverine one shot was a particular masterpiece, he was part of the dream team on Iron Man with Michelinie and Layton, and had a fantastic run on G.I. Joe…. And of course the singular best piece of Transformers art ever, an epic lead-in for #5 of a 4-issue limited series.

Oh wow, one of my favorite comic book artists – and yet, I had no idea he was behind that Shockwave cover! Amazing.

I knew him mainly from IRON MAN (the Silver Centurion armor was his creation, I believe) and his later stint on G.I. JOE.

What a bummer – but what a great legacy. RIP, Doc.
