Normally I'm pretty impressed with LD's, but that doesn't look good at all.

maybe its actually plated with gold, and not standard lucky draw electroplated?

Could just be a photoshopped photo too, which is why its not shiny? You can see flames on his legs kinda

 

It says only three will get these, but I predict there will be a swarm of 'lunchtime specials'' or 'prototypes' of these like the Henkei LD's produced last year.

 

Looks great! But it also looks only painted not chromed.

 

It's not that it neccessarily LOOKS cool IMO, it's the rarity of it that makes it awesome. Same as all lucky draw figs.

 

Really? That looks a little nasty.

I understand U.Magnus80's thing about rarity making it cool. However, for me, a thing has to be at least a little nice-looking in order to qualify as cool. Rarity alone doesn't cut it.

Damn. Another Op. toy I'll NEVER own. Just like the Gold Convoy from a few years back. Awwwl yell. A completists nightmare.  

I just happen to like the Leader toy. At least I'll still be trying to get a black DVD version.  

 

Yes. Some look better than others, but how often is a one color bot really the best color scheme possible?

I actually like this one more than some of the others I've seen. I guess if I won it, I'd be happy to display it. But it's nothing to drool over (or pay ungodly amounts for).

 

I won't pretend to understand why the all-gold look is often the default for LDs, but if you can track down a few pics of BR-05 Great Goldran (the reissue, not the original), it's a pretty good example of how an almost-entirely-gold figure can be accentuated with silver chrome and other accents.

If this thing were a nice gold + chrome combo, I'd have an entirely different feeling about it.

 

Betcha ultraconvoy has 7 of these prototypes already.

serious as soon as one hits ebay the price is gonna be scary high

not to my tastes however im happy with my ROTF leader Prime no need for gold plating

 

I bet combining this with Jet fire's going to be a real night mare.

Hell, ROTF prime is already difficult to transform, the chrome is going to make it even more difficult.
