i plan to make a Pyro the wrecker.

and iv got two options for the mold.
either Cybertron Mudflap. or RTS Grapple (faced backwards with an added chest piece)

Grapple - i love the mold and it would work great.. BUT with twisting him around it messes with the alt mode a bit. and also the shoulder flaps don't go on his back as nice when he's twisted around

Mudflap - he looks good in alt mode, and robot mode too.. BUT i hate the arm kibble and the Crane. but the arm kibble is necessary for alt mode

    which should i use?

I would personally use grapple with the chest piece.

Just my opinion as I like it over the mudflap toy.

Sorry about that, personally, I think mudflap might be better. We've already seen what can be done with grapple. I think there would be a way to attach the kibble to the backpack instead of the arms.
    or
Set it up so that some of the kibble itself can be transformed into weapons or such like the original "trailer" turned into a base.
I think Mudflap's bot mode would better suit Pyro's build than grapple anyways.

Using Mudflap will be more unique, so I'd say go for that. I'm betting a lot of people are going to do Pyro with a backwards Grapple/Inferno base.

true! i could try to attach them as a backpack. I'm not tooooo concerned with parts forming, as long as it looks good

the uniqueness doesn't bother me. I'm just trying to get the best representation of the character

for guns, I'm not 100% sure yet. ill have to just dig around my parts bin. i don't have my figures with me to customize them. I'm 7 hours from home at college and don't really have the space or time unfortunately to do any customizing but at soon i can get back home, ill work on him.
