No idea if this is news, but these are out in the wild now. According to the box these things are Hot Topic exclusive.
Of note though is that only Grimlock actually has the words 'Hot Topic Exclusive' on his bio card.

Anyone who bought the first series will know that calling these 'action vinyls' was incredibly generous. This wave changes that, the entire design has been redone. Now they feature (usable) ball joints in the hips, shoulders, neck, wrists, waist and head. They end up standing a little taller because of it. They also include a ton more accessories this time around. Grimlock even has his entire dinosaur mode upper torso.



In addition, not sure if we knew this previously but the Optimus from this set is electronic. It has an interchangeable forearm/energy axe and speaks three 3-second phrases.

 

Are these those $13.00 Blind Box (what seems like 1") Figures?

Why are they that expensive?

1"? No way. They'd be smaller than a quarter. Aren't they at least 3"?

 

I have all of series 1 except for Grimlock and Starscream. I've been looking forward to series 2 but yeah the bb's are way overpriced. No way they should ever be over $10 and even that's pushing it.

 

I was over-exaggerating. lol They just seem small for the price point. I haven't purchased one; I've only seen the packaging.

 

They are about 3" tall and fairly substantial for the price. I don't have any of the S1 figures to hand, but here is a comparison to AoE Crosshairs.

$12.50, but Hot Topic has a storewide promo for BOGO50%, so you can scoop them up for about $9 a piece.
