I'll only speak on his IDW portrayal, since that's the only one I've seen where he's actually gotten some character development. I love bad guys, but for some reason, it really pisses me off when they're pretending to be one of the good guys. It isn't from a writing point of view that I hate it. It's from the way you're meant to hate a villain. I hate their ideals. Maybe it's because of their attitude. Instead of being mustache twitching, and enjoyable, they look down they're noses at everyone, and you want to punch them in the face. Plus there's the whole Mary Sue thing. Kind of. Prowl spent almost all of pre-DC RID being the only one to get things done, and he killed, or had killed, countless Decepticons. Of course, it turned out not to be true, but the comic spent so long making us believe it was, I find it hard to just forget all about it. Honestly, I can't wait for the day Prowl tries to stab the Constructicons in the back, and they hopefully turn around and put a laser bolt in him.
