We've already seen that Lost Light is doing two issues in June, but Roberts has confirmed on his Twitter that both it and Optimus Prime will continue to be published biweekly for the next few months so that their 25th issues (likely their finales by the looks of things) line up with Unicron #6.

That probably means that the release schedule will look like this:

    June: OP #20, LL #19-20
    July: OP #21-22, LL #21-22, U #1-2
    August: OP #23-34, LL #23-24, U #3-4
    September: OP #25, LL #25, U #5-6

So by the looks of it, September is when it's all coming to an end. Brace yourselves.

That means that the rumoured (if not completely confirmed by now) reboot will launch in October, the same month that Infiltration #0 launched all the way back in 2005. Seems fitting.

I rather like the symmetry truthfully. Let’s hope they can keep things on schedule, which they have gotten better at recently.

If only they'd lie to me about what is coming next I'd feel so much better about this.

If the end of Lost Light is a tie-in to Unicron, or even a "now the characters go participate in the crossover" I'll be pretty annoyed.

Same. I've loved this series, but they've got no right with Unicron.

They’re searching for their history, their origins, so it kinda makes perfect sense that they end up at the end.

That explains why they're taking a rest after catching up a bit.

    BTW it's 23-24, not 34.

If they didn't go bi-weekly, this would finish up in December. That'd be a bittersweet way to close out the year.

Looks like IDW is shortening their revenue stream. It's better to get $8 a month per title for 3 months then get $4 per month for 6. Comic shop owners are going to start dropping orders if they believe the continuities are ending.

My issue isn't with Unicron the character, it's that the biggest derailments to MTMTE have been stuff like Dark Cybertron and the Hasbroverse renumbering. I assume Roberts had some sort of ending in mind when he started, and I doubt it was "participate in a company-wide crossover," so if the series ends with another crossover derailment, ugh.

So is the universe just going to end with Unicorn without any aftermath of the event?

Why couldn't this wait until after Lost Light actually ended? If you're going to unceremoniously kill the whole shebang why do you need to follow a schedule?

We do not know what Unicron will actually do in IDW. I'm more concerned with the rushed end to threads the galactic council, black box consortia, pharma, knights of Cybertron quintessons etc that's going to happen in order to wrap things up. I was going to start another thread about it but I think there's enough threads going about the end

The again, Spotlight Wheelie was released 10 years ago and they DID NOT manage to make something of the Quintessons so far. I really have the feeling in retrospect, that they waste too much time on unimportant stuff and talking and never going anywhere of importance. The stories are constantly interrupted by meaningless crossovers that I don't care for and the main story never gets to the plot threads that I want to see resolved. If you put all that into a timeframe of 10 YEARS it's really disappointing.

This is the conclusion. So what that means the resolution to all of those stories is "fuck you."

I guess IDW's ownership of the license is in serious jeapordy if they think they only have 6 months left.

Yeah. They've appear on the surface to have been given a timeline to wrap up this continuity. I think a lot of threads will be left dangling. I'd imagine they will only focus on the big stuff or what deem big stuff in the run in. I can see the quintessons(pentius aside) properly turning up but at this point its a case of why bother? What's the point if it turns out they were the guiding hand or, like Sunbow, the creators of the transformers.? It means nothing if its a hi and goodbye scenario.

I'd imagine James will do his best to finish tyrest story properly but again it could be a rushed ending. I think they are doing the right thing having both titles run together so both finish alongside the Unicron story but I think a lot of people are gonna feel disappointed because I can't see a lot of the major threads getting a proper resolution.

There was too much time wasted on boring side plots and stories and now they have to try and properly end things. Potentially one big mess

There are some heavy hitters on the lost light. Some tough hombres. If you are on earth or Cybertron you would want magnus whirl et all fighting alongside you against the chaos bringer.

I think the quest will be over by then anyway and I can see optimus and co reuniting with rodimus and co for one last hurrah

Why can't Hasbro let anyone finish a TF arc before pulling the plug?
