Do you think with prime losing faith and the death of friends prime regrets not siding with megs and sentinel
I don't think so. But I do think that he regrets not leaving Earth when the others told him. Also, Prime wouldn't join sides with Megs.
No, I don't think so. If Optimus had sided with Megatron then he would have to live with the fact that he freely allowed the slavery of six billion people, and he'd be watching them suffer every day. I think he's definitely upset with the humans who betrayed him and he's upset that so many of the people he loved have been murdered (by both his own race and the humans). I also think he's lost faith in himself because he simply doesn't know what the right thing to do is anymore. Look at all the people who have betrayed and tried to murder him: Half of his race, his own mentor, humanity. Wouldn't you lose faith if everything you did fighting for freedom only led to everyone wanting you dead?
Damn. This makes Movie Optimus my favorite and kinda explains why he's so violent, he's had a very hard life.
Maybe this just proves that a society of giant war machines is bound to implode at some point or another. The loss of all of Prime's buddies and his allies turning on him is all part of nature wiping out a species that is too violent to exist.
It's a rough situation for him to be in, because anything he does will have negative consequences. What IS the right thing to do? If he left humanity to it's fate in DOTM, Cybertron would be restored, but as Magnahide said, he'd be watching them suffer everyday. Also, his own kind would be suffering under (what we could presume would be) a dictatorship. The Cybertron they would gain would not be a home. If he leaves humanity to it's fate in AOE, he's dooming billions of innocent people who have never met him, who either aren't aware of whats being done to his fellow Autobots, or can't do anything about it. And then the Autobots that were lost keeping humanity safe would be in vain. If he starts killing KSI, it'll only reinforce the lies KSI has been spreading and the repercussions could cause his peers more pain. If he doesn't kill KSI, he's willingly risking the lives of his peers, who don't deserve that treatment in any way. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. What's left for him to have faith in?
I laughed. "If you can't have faith in who are, Prime, have faith in dinosaurs." Assuming he knows they exist when he's talking to Cade.
He does start killing KSI, though. I don't think he cares about what humans think of him anymore; they're going to hate all the Autobots regardless of what they do.
Does this potentially make prime more of a villain than megatron though in an overall sense i mean, megs wants power but prime may be having a Douglas style breakdown lol!!
Movie Optimus Prime is always in a lose-lose situation, stuck between a rock and a hard place, the monkey in the middle. He can never truly win and save everyone.
I would like to think the movies are not quite so low-brow. "A few human individuals have done me a great wrong, I should've nuked the planet when I had the chance." No it doesn't. I don't understand how "Well Megs is just a horrible greedy person who has zero regard for any and all life, but Prime has a rationale for questioning his own motives so he's obviously worse!"
